Advantages Good appearance, nice media player.

Disadvantages Keypad cracked, software problems.

This phone seemed like a great idea at first. It seemed to have all the right features, including a decent quality music player and a camera. I bought this phone after quite a long time of looking at different Sony Ericsson phones, and I decided this phone would suit me best. However, within 3 months:
- The battery life was deteriorating each time I charged it
- The buttons on the keypad were cracking and were becoming hard to use
- The slide feature was becoming harder to use.

Appearance:
The phone is available in 4 different colours, and one limited edition colours. These are black, white, gray, pink and red. I decided that the gray version looked nice and so that is the colour that I purchased. The keypad was easy to see and easy to text (until it practically came off) and the phone felt 'right' in my hand. The screen was big enough to watch video's on it, and big enough for me to see the screen, even without my glasses on.

Durability:
At first, it was a very good phone. But after around 3 months, the software was breaking and the phone was constantly turning itself off. This meant that it had to be sent away for repairs for over 2 weeks. When I got the phone back, within about 4 weeks, the software was damaged again, and so the phone went back to the repairs shop for another 2 weeks. Eventually, the software and the keypad were very damaged and would not work, so I eventually purchased a new phone after around 7 months. The keypad would randomly crack and the buttons would split in half, which made it almost impossible to type a text message with.

Features:
The Sony Ericsson included a new feature called 'shake to shuffle' which allowed the user to shake the phone when on the media player, and so change the song, without even pressing a button. However, I do think that this was part of the reason that the battery life did start to die after a while. After around 6 months, a full charge would only allow 2/3 hours of battery life. This phone also included a camera, however, the camera was not of a very good standard and the video's were not very good at all when taken using this camera. This phone had all the usual features of a modern mobile phone, bluetooth, SMS, media messaging and a media player. I was able to hold around 40 songs on my memory card, along with around 300 photos and several videos. This phone also allowed internet access, although, the signal was usually poor on this phone so it took a long time to load each page of the internet browser. Once on the browser, you were able to download music, ring tones, wallpapers, themes and games.

Recommendation:
I would not really recommend this phone after the experience I had with it. I would consider 7/8 months of having a phone not very much, considering I have had my current phone for over 1 year and it has yet to have a repair or to have any technical/appearance problems. However, for the actual phone itself, the features and the appearance of the phone do sell this phone to me. If the phone actually continued to work, then this would have been the perfect phone!
