I got this phone on contract in the summer, my last phone was a Sony Ericsson W550i, the phone served me very well untill the charger/usb/headphone port didn't want to work any more, when it broke I could no longer charge, listen to music or connect it to my PC. So I went and got the W550i, when I opened it i could not beleave how thin it was, and its looks are stunnning, Starting up my phone was easy, I put my old sim into it, and when I turned it on, it asked my to enter the time and date and also it automaticly copied the contacts from my sim card to the phone. I phone comes with a 1GB SanDisk M2 memory card, there about the size of a cornflake, the phone can take a maximum of 2GB of memory.
It has a 2.0 megapixel camera, which is great for taking snaps out and about, some downsides to the camrea on the phone is that it has no flash and you can only zoom in video mode.
The Walkman application on the phone is excellent, it has a layout like an iPod(artists, albums, tracks, playlists and online channels), you can delete your media straight from the phone and you can make your playlists on the go. The phone comes with some excellent headphones that have great bass and when you have music playing at a high volume you can't hear outside noise, well unless your next to an air horn!
The PC Disc2Phone software is quite simple to use and it gets tracks on your phone very fast. Unfortanatly the sync program isn't very good, many times at has failed to start and also at fails to recognise my phone. The good thing is that your PC will recognise the phone and you cant drag and drop media on and off your phone without and software.
The phone some cool features such as a Music DJ, Photo Editor, Movie editor and also an application called TrackID, which is were you record music from speaker ect and then the phone will record part of the music and tell you which track, artist and album it is, and it also gives you the option to download it using 3G.
The phone has Video calling, which can only be used if you are calling another person with video call. The phone has a camera on the front which is used for video calling but you cannot take pictures using the camera. But one good thing is if you have no mirror on you, you can open to video calling application and use it as a nice mirror.
With the bluetooth applications I am able to to control my laptop, play music off my phone through speakers wirelessly using AD2P, and also send and recieve files.
The phones battery life does lack a little, the battery usually lasts around 2 days if you arn't using it much, but if you are using the Walkman application, Browsing the internet and taking photos and vidoes, pray for the battery life to last a day. The fast charging does counteract the bad battery life, you can easily get it to full charge in 45mins.
Some people say that the tiny buttons on the phone are a problem, I don't think this is true becuase the buttons are like little pieces of rice, they are spaced out and they stick out a lot, this mean you can easily press them and there is no chance of hitting the wrong button becuase they are so spaced out.
I do find that the phones screen is a little prone to scratching, so I went out and bought myself a body glove cover, this kept the whole phone protected and kept water and scratches of the screen, it also had a nice clip on it to clip it in my pocket. But I had to take it out the case to charge it becuase the hole for the charge port didnt fit my charger through.
