Opening the box: When I first opened the box i seen the shine come from the phone knowing it was already unlocked and had everything I needed. I took the phone out and inserted the sim card and the battery etc. I switched the phone on to get the sony ericsson logo and it popped up with normal mode or flight mode. I clicked on normal mode and I was away listening to music, texting and ringing friends from the all new slim and shiny w880i model handset. I also got brand new headphones and manuals to help me and the software disc and USB lead, charger and I also got a free set of speakers to play my music at home.
Performance: I think the w880i has an successful performance talk time ranges from 2 hours to 7 hours depends how much you love ringing people. The average standby time for this handset is 425 hours which I think is very suitable for this type of phone.
Camera: The phones has a very good camera with its 2 megapixel good for capturing and sharing them special moments. Only thing that I dont like with the camera is there is no zoom so is you standing far away and tring to get a picture it will not be very good.
Features: The phone has a wide range of features. For example trackID which is useful for when your on the move listening to the radio and a song your listening to you really want you click on options and TrackID it will tell you the artist and name of the song.
You also have a walkman button on the top left handside which with a click will take you to your music player and all your music so all you have to do is click play and put your headphones in and enjoy. The phone with headphones in is very loud.
The phone also has a built in stopwatch so if your into all your training and sports then this is the phone for your as you can listen to your music and use your stopwatch at the same time how about that.
Style: I think the phone is very stylish and very thin. I really like it were I can just slide the phone in my pocket. The buttons on the phone are a little difficult to use but once you have one and have a play around with it they are really easy to use. The phone has 2 cameras one on the back and one on the front as of the 3G in the phone.
Memory: I find the memory on the phone very small only 16mb which can hold about 4 songs which I dislike but I bought a memory card and I can now hold all my songs. The phone actually takes a m2 memory card which you can get from 512mb to 4GB depends on how much music and videos you have.
Entertainment: You have quite alot to do with this phone within the entertainment area you have things like your java gaming for all your favourite games on the move as well as your video player so you could watch a movie while on holiday or a family video on the way to work etc.
Connectivity; The phone itself has bluetooth and modem and USB to transfer stuff so no matter where you are you have some way of gathering data like music and videos etc USB is used to hook your phone upto your pc/laptop for transferring files from one of the items to the other. Bluetooth is a free way of sending stuff to mates etc only in a perticular range insteasd of paying everytime to send as a text.
Other: I really liked it when I went to the shop to purchase my w880i as I had a choice of colour they where pitch black, steel silver, classic gold and flame black and I choose the steel silver as it looked very nice and stylish. The phone does not take long to charge average 1 - 4 hours depends on how low the battery is I normally leave phone on charger while I sleep.
