About the camera ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This camera is very good for recording home videos, what makes it a good buy is the fact that there is no wasting time when you want to play back things that you have recorded. The things you record can also be played in surround sound, if you know any thing about sound there is a considerable difference in quality. When you record with this it automatically recorded in DV format. There is also a good quality picture when you record, in comparison to the video kind of camcorders, and of course the picture wont jump while playing! The camera is made by Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar which doesn't mean anything to me but if it helps anybody there it is!
What it can do ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It has a 3 megapixel resolution so the quality of picture is of very good standard. It has a unique colour filter comprised of RGB filters for precise colour reproduction which most be doing a good job because filming is very clear on this camera. When you record on this films are also compatible with wide screen TV which is bigger that standard TV size. Wide screen is 16:9 ratio and standard is 4:3, but you can still play films on standard size TVs also. So you can use this on your wide screen TV. When filming the screen that you view is a 2.7-inch LCD monitor which I find is big enough for viewing films, you might want to edit.
Special features ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It has an advances multi layer 'T' coating this is stops reflections, reduces of colours being recorded, mainly that red colour you get when film sometimes, which does actually work. So the images on this camera are very sharp, the 10X optical zoom lens also helps this because it helps keep the quality in clarity and colour when focussing close to objects or zooming in or out at a distance.
Sound quality ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The quality of sound is also very good it has a built in microphone that always records in 5.1 surround sound so you can get that movie feel when filming that, cool! You feel like Spielberg with this camera, ok maybe just a first time director lol! So once recorded set up you home theatre apparatus and the DVD' s you record are compatible to be played on it.
I recommend this camera it is modern and a nice size and the pictures are clear! It will cost you £600-750
