the blank dvds are only 8cm and this made me a little worried at first until i read the instruction. I never noticed the smaller built in tray in dvd players for the smaller disks until now but its there on all of them.
the first change i got to try this out was at the zoo with my daughter. The zoom was great and got right upto the animals from a verry safe distance .When we got home she said i dont want to watch barny at the zoo anymore and that she would like to watch megan at the zoo instead .
the special fx features on this camera are just amazing and i was verry shocked at just how well it morphed my daughters face into the chimpanzie`s.This was done by pausing the video and it showing a overlay of my daugter and when i lined up the chimp and unpaused it the handycam started to blend the two video clips to make one.
Other features are making your footage look like it is verry old with a sepia colour and jumping and skiping and crackles and dirt over the image that is verry good and realistic.
and as for the super nightshot mode were do i start
imagine my shock when i tried it out and viewed my backgarden in pitch dark only to turn on the supernightshot mode to see my garden looking like i have just installed floodlights? the footage had only a slight tint of green unlike other nightshot vision clips i have seen in the past.
it also has a 10 x optical (120 x digital zoom) but i find that if you go past 40x on the digital zoom the video will go verry blocky and you will see all the pixels But the digital zoom isnt needed.
this amazing device also has a one Megapixel CCD digital camera built in. the quality isnt brilliant and im sure for the money they could of made the resolution a bit higher but its good and the camera displays it as a nice slideshow on your dvd menu
this unit is also verry light weight and the Battery life is good thanks to the low power LCD screen.
and you can now puchase blank 8cm dvd disks from many online shops at only 10 for £6

Advantages: Very Easy to use, Disadvantages: comes with 1 recordable disc whereas a RE-Recordable would be BETTER
This camcorder is just so easy to use . It is my first camcorder so I wasn't sure wether I would be able to use it or if I would be blinded by science but once the battery was charged then it was just so simple ( I had a quick look at the instruction booklet while waiting for battery to charge) there are 3 different resolutions to record in the best being in HQ which gives very good clarity but only 21minutes of recording time with each disc/ SP ... ...recording time/LP which is ok but gives you 60 minutes of recording time.
It has super nightshot plus , super steady shot ,digital picture efectsmovies and photos on same disc and besides watching your video on the 2.5 inch screen within a few seconds (30 to 120) you can finalize the movie and watch it on most DVD players or your PC and its just a matter of copying and pasting it into a folder and then burn it to disc ...

I Bought this camcorder as my panasonic was beyond repair,I decided to go for the dvd as videos are being fazed out. Once home and opened the box looks were great Small Stylsh and Nice colour. DVDS
