This is just a superb Sony HandyCam. It has been in my right hand more than it should have been for the past six years! I've filmed through Tanzania to Lanzarote and it is still going strong. Extremely easy to use, compact and with a great battery life, I plug it into my imac where I create DVD's through iMovie and iDVD. The only disadvantage I can think of about this camera is expecting too much for your money! Even the night vision is responsive ... ...you come to make the finished clips that this trusty little fella will not have let you down in colour and sharpness due to having Carl Zeiss technology. It is a little battered on the edges but I put that down to the kids using it not dropping it down the side of Mount Elgon in Uganda! ... more

The only disadvantage I can think of about this camera is expecting too much for your money! Even the night vision is responsive and clear. Simple filming safe in the knowledge that when you come to make the finished clips that this trusty little fella will not have let you down in colour and sharpness due to having Carl Zeiss technology. Usual sony junk, this one recorded 4 tapes before it decided not to record sound and only record half a screen of picture. It was a replacement for my fantastic sony tvr-33 which my daughter dropped and broke unfortunately. As soon as this one came out of the box it looked a lot poorer quality and that was soon borne out in operation.
It does have fancy features but these are fairly pointless when it stops recording after several uses, I spent a ... ...it was damaged.
It does stream usb ok and makes a decent webcam albeit an expensive one. I have owned a lot of sony equipment from home cinema amps, mp3s, televsions and video cameras. They have all looked pretty but aside from the tv all have been unreliable rubbish. ...
