Quality camcorder and price to match

Advantages: Intuitive to use, excellent quality
Disadvantages: price

...because I settled on the Sony DCR PC101 which was quite expensive (over £1000 at the time, when I saw other models with similar features for around £700).

Having used it extensivily over the last few holidays I still find it very enjoyable to use and have no regrets (except perhaps that it is so much cheaper these days).

Best things about the camcorder are (in order of merit):

1. It is very intuitive to ...
...to use the manual.

2. It is the right size (any bigger and it would be bulky and inconvenient, any smaller and it would be to small and fiddley for my hands).

3. It has excellent picture quality .

4. The standard battery last ages (over 2 hours). You can buy bigger batteries for it but I havent had any need for it.

5. Very easy to download to a PC to capture both movies and pictures. It ... more
