    Advantages Advantages Fast on, decent video quality, incredibly easy to use.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages slow auto focus, photo quality is dreadful, no external mic jack.

    The Sony Handycam SR35 is a HardDrive camcorder meaning all your video footage is saved to a hard disk inside the camera, as opposed to a DVD or tape. In this case you get 30GB of storage space giving you around 5 hours recording time in High quality. Let's go through the camera's features. DESIGN The sr35 is incredibly compact and lightweight and is a absolute present from heaven if you are coming from recording on mini DVDs.     feels solid to use. lots of useful features, such as good zoom and good lens. good value for amount of feaures. ample hard disk space. really small and compact. useful touch-screen features like manual spot-focus. surprisingly good stereo microphone (with mic zoom capability too). image quality is very good in good lighting, but can be difficult in low light. however, it does have a very good nightshot.

    My Dad purchased this camera last week. Its very easy to use, it also has a switch for nightshot mode which allows one to capture whats going on in the dark. The 800,000 pixel resolution is equivelent to the quality of standard dv cameras. Which is pretty good. If you don't want to spend too much on a camera this is the one you should go for. Another feature i like is that you can drag and drop the mpeg movie files from the camera to your pc, the camera registers as an external hard drive. We needed something that we could actually pick up and use quickly to capture first steps etc. I must say that we were not dissapointed. The camera is very easy to use with great ergonomics that put the controls at your fingertips, it's also very light. It's so small you can slip inside a coat pocket easily enough!     Disadvantages Disadvantages Only useable if charged immediately before use as battery drains rapidly when switched off.

    If you want a camcorder for an ormnament, or to sit in a box then this is the one to get. If you want a camcorde that you can grab when something unexpected happens - then give the Sony a miss I purchased the similar SR33E which seems to have been sold only By Currys, and since purchase have never been able to use it as the battery drains within 1-2 weeks. I returned it to the store and it was sent off for repair but came back with exactly the same fault. I took it back to the store again and was told that "as it has already been repaired, perhaps the company will not accept it for repair ... more
