If you want a camcorder for an ormnament, or to sit in a box then this is the one to get.
If you want a camcorde that you can grab when something unexpected happens - then give the Sony a miss
I purchased the similar SR33E which seems to have been sold only By Currys, and since purchase have never been able to use it as the battery drains within 1-2 weeks.
I returned it to the store and it was sent off for repair but came back with exactly the same fault. I took it back to the store again and was told that "as it has already been repaired, perhaps the company will not accept it for repair again, and despite Currys customer service saying I was entitled to have it written off as it was still faulty after 28 days, the store refused, and further complints to Currys head office have been totally ignored. It is now over 2 weeks since I went back to the store and Currys have neither sorted out the problem or my complaint about how it is being dealt with. I am extremely disappointedwith the camcorder , as on occasions when we have been able to use it plugged inot the mains the picture quality etc has been excellent, but as it is not portable, it's use is very limited. The instructions say that the camcoder must be removed from the docking station when the battery is fully charged, and switched off, and that "if the unit is not going to be used for a long period of time the battery should be removed" which is perfectly reasonable, but the battery is completely dead just 2-3 weeks after charging and within 7 days has drained from 84 minutes power to 34 minutes, despite being removed and switched off as per instructions.

Not sure you've reviewed the appropriate product, and too much emphasis on personal bad experiences which comes across as more as a review of a store than the thing itself.
