...negligible. My main problem is Sony itself. Of course they have to hold things back for their "Flagship" models, but they held back a thing called Motionflow. It's called many things from different companies, but this is just the standard name I use. Also, I find that the Standard definition can be quite poor; it's quite good over the built-in freeview but through terrestrial it can get ridiculous. I use sky though so there is no real problem for me. The non-HD images onscreen though seem a little stretched, and no one can say it's because of the screen size. I have seen 50inch Plasmas with amazing SD. It's just missing a few things inside, which isn't great. I can ... more
All I can say is Wow. I never truly experienced full HD in a home environment, until around two months ago. Until this point I either watched TV or a DVD on a ten year old 14inch portable or on a 6 year old 28inch widescreen TV made a company only an unlucky few had had the misfortune to know about. This TV is genuinely one of my crowning achievements in life, as sad as it sounds (well...I'm only 19).One second please, while I get a grip of myself. O.K. the TV probably isn't THAT good. I was just a little overexcited.
To start with, I'm going to talk about the negatives (for a change). This, of course is not the newest model. It lacks things that even the W3000 has. Those are negligible. My main problem is Sony itself. Of course they have to hold things back for their "Flagship" models, but they held back a thing called Motionflow. It's called many things from different companies, but this is just the standard name I use. This is in most televisions these days, sometimes even budget ones (rarely) but it was left out of the TVs between the D3000 and the X3000, which is strange, I think anyway as motionflow doubles the amount of frames used to create a picture, making i smoother.
I can get past this though as the more you watch the less you notice. And if you watch mainly HD you will never have a problem.
This is where the TV shows its strengths. The HD performance is absolutely staggering. When I first loaded up Planet Earth on HD my jaw dropped. The detail was staggering. Even when compared to other models such as the W3000, the quality of HD is very hard to tell apart (Mainly because the W3000 is only really better at SD...but hundreds of pounds more expensive).
The next great thing about the V3000 is the ease of use. In 30-40 minutes and guide or two I was good to go, with that jaw dropping HD. Some TVs can take hours to set up, so this is a breath of fresh air. Even the remote control is very simple. It is a little elongated for my massive hands but apart from that I love it. It's sturdy enough to hit people with (trust me) and accessible enough to get what you want from it.
The built quality of the actual TV is good. I've had cats jumping all over it and not once has it been scratched, in fact it barely even wobbles, so this is reassuring. It is also very attractive to look at. When watching from a reasonable distance you can see the surrounding black bars of the TV but it's not a hindrance. They are the perfect size, not too big and not too small.
The sound quality is reasonable; it even has S-Surround. This means the speakers are slightly angled to give a surround sound effect. It's ok, but most people will probably have a dedicated surround sound system, so this is negligible.
The thing that I was personally attracted to was the price though. I bought it for £700 from a well-known online retailer, with no hassle. I would recommend to anyone that they should order online, because it is at least £300+ in high street stores. It also helped that it's almost as good as the W3000, which i mentioned earlier. If you want an even cheaper TV I would go with the D3500, it is identical in every way to the V300 except from two things. It looks slightly different and, the deciding factor for me, it only has two HDMI ports, compared to the V3000's three. If you only need two then by all means get the cheaper one. I am trying to be future proof though.
The V3000 has a nice array of features for the price, and the HD is second to none. You also get it from a good, well known company, so you know who you're dealing with. In my opinion it is still one of the best TVs on the market today, and if you're looking for something around this size for less than £1000, then I couldn't recommend it enough.
Advantages: The picture quality is excellent Disadvantages: The sound quality could be better
...is absolutely superb, yet again sony has made an outstaning product. I have it connected to my ps3 and it does 1080p resolution which is crystal clear, although the sound quality could be better. But i solved this problem by simply connecting it to a surroundsound system and now its absolutely fine. If you're considering getting one then i advise you not to put it on a wall bracket because it is quite hard to connect other devices to the t.v as you ...

Quick review of Sony KDL-40V3000
Recently taken delivery of this tv and all i can say is WOW! did plenty of research and narrowed it down to this, LG or samsung (equivalent models) since then i've seen the others in action and boy, did i make the right choice! Sony may of been slow to fully commit to leading their range with LCD, but now they have, lucky us. I can say with confidence that nothing else below £1500 can touch this set unless you get the next model up on sale. ...

Advantages: Great looking, Wonderful pictures, Quality product Disadvantages: Sport not great if not HD
Excellent design and picture, many "AV slots" for external inputs such as satellite box, DVD, Games Console, PC etc.
AV channels can be turned on or off for easy access.
The Bravia design makes the size of the overall product not much larger than the screen, this allows you to get a larger screen in a smaller place.
Sonys lettering system sits the V range as the starter level for their real quality sets. Anything below is of lesser specification ...

Advantages: Great Look, 1080p, 3 HDMI Inputs Disadvantages: No built in Freeview, but that's no real disadvantage.
This TV wasn't my first choice when buying a TV. In fact, I actually bought a SonyKDL40V3000 but after a few days it got a fault where a 4" line of white pixels appeared on the right hand side of the screen. I took the TV back to Currys where I purchased it and as they had no others in stock I was given the option of selecting another TV. I opted for the Samsung LE40A556 and I'm so glad I did.
This TV is such an improvement on the Sony. Starting with the look, it comes in the Black Gloss look which to be honest is stunning. Another thing I noticed was the weight of the Samsung. It's so much lighter than the Sony. The picture quality is definitely a step up from the Sony and it's still a 1080p screen. Other benefits include: 3 HDMI Sockets, more audio & display options.
Enjoy. ...
The step-up KDL-V3000 series includes a 40- and a 46-inch model. They up the ante with 1,920x1,080 (aka 1080p) native resolution and also include the improved backlight, 10-bit color, and an entirely black cabinet with sharp corners. Their HDMI inputs can handle 1080p/60 and 1080p/24 sources.
