The Sony team have really done it this time. I set out looking for a large TV, eventually settling for the 32" Sony. It cost me a pretty penny at £1435 but I thought it was well worht it - especially when I got it home.

Its hard to get used to a flat screen but now I wouldn't give it up, after a week or so it becomes second nature - and you notice just how bad ordinary screens are. I now refuse to watch my girlfriends TV as it doesnt seem right on my eyes (not that she minds, she is perfectly happy to cuddle up and watch it at my house instead :)).
The TV is able to support modern features and mine came with a stand and surround sound (which I highly recommend in the right surroundings). The problem I originally had with the surround sound was that I set it up incorrectly. It is important to get the right speakers in the right place and as every room is different this can be tricky, but its well worth it in the end. I had a friend who is an expert (compared to me anyway) sort it out for me and set them up correctly, if you can find one then its even worth paying them to sort it out as it is a HUGE difference.
I recently also bought a DVD player and although I haven't yet used it on a normal TV, I can easily say its brilliant on the flat screen. The picture quality is amazing and everything else works great, get one with surround sound support though, the extra £10 makes a difference because without the DVD player supporting it, you may as well forget it altogether!
Other than that, this TV comes highly recommended. Just watch out for the SMART as it isnt as good as it first seems and I now change it manually. Saying that, if I could save up another 6 months of scrounging round I would definitely buy it again. No questions asked, although it is coming down in price over the next few months so keep an extra eye out. Dixons was the highest price I saw and Radio Rentals the lowest - but that is ever changing so look around!
Advantages: Picture and Sound Disadvantages: Boy is this thing heavy (65kg), SMART setting not too smart
...to phono inputs on the front. 3 sockets are just about adequate in this day and age!
On the negative side, the SMART screen setting is not that smart, it only seems to get it right 50% of the time.

Advantages: Amazing contrast and colour Disadvantages: Price
I bought this TV after looking at many TVs,. I would recommend this TV for anyone who wants to get the best out of DVD's. The most shocking feature of this TV is that the screen is perfectly flat and has an amazingly vivid and colourful picture. The 100Hz processing dose not cause any artifacts or motion blur. It also has excellent sound but I would still recommend running it through a Hifi. A usfull feature of this TV is that it caches the pages ...

Quick review of Sony KV 32FX60

Advantages: Picture quality, flat screen, stylish Disadvantages: Pricey in the high street
I've only had this TV for a couple of weeks now but so far I'm well impressed. I'd heard very good things about it before buying but once I got it home I was blown away. My previous tele was a 29" 4:3 Panasonic so I was used to a big tele but it was the picture quality which was so impressive. Combined with a Sky Digibox the colours are really sharp and vibrant. The reason I've finally gone for a widescreen tele is that a lot of stuff is now being ... ...and Channel 4 programs) plus I've got a DVD player. There are also settings to cope with letterbox transmitions and 4:3 and 14:9. There are 3 Scart sockets on the back of the TV plus an S-Video and composite input on the front. These are very necessary these days. I have a digibox, video and DVD player to connect up. However soon I'll need another Scart for my PS2 (if I ever get one!) To sum up if you're after a widescreen TV you really can't go ...

...was only one choice, the sony was it. By far the best looking set, and the picture quality second to none. Attach a DVD player and the picture is fantastic. The set may not be cheap but the quality is certainly the best. But whatever you do don't buy from the high street, they wanted to charge me an extra £200 for a stand that I did'nt want. I bought a copy of Home Cinema and phone a few of the larger establishments, not only did they offer to sell ... ...and extra £200 off as well. I purchased my set from Sound and Vision (one of the larger ad's in the mag) They even delivered the next day, the highstreet (Currys, Comet) could'nt better that deal. I've had my set for nearly a year and the set is still one of the best on the market. ...

Advantages: Great picture quality Disadvantages: A very heavy TV at 70KG
Firstly let me say that this review is for the SonyKV32FX60, not the KV32FX60D. The only difference beyween the two models is that the 'D' has a built in digital receiver. There is no Ciao category for my TV, the KV32FX60, so I've put it here until it gets moved.
Okay, on with the Opinion. I bought my TV in 2000 from John Lewis on Oxford Street. This is an excellent place to buy TVs from, because they have a policy of price matching all of the stores within a couple of miles radius. In the case of Oxford Street this includes all of the cheap shops on Tottenham Court Road as well as high street shops like Dixons etc. I paid £995 for it, and at the time the cheapest quote I got elsewhere was £1195 and the most expensive £1395 which is a big difference, so if you are buying a TV give John Lewis Oxford Street a ring. Another bonus is ...
