Hi, this review is about Sony’s earphone MDR-EX33LP.

Manufacturer

Two Japanese men, Akio Morita and Masaru Ibuka worked together from when they were young. Their lives were always designing and manufacturing new electronics. One of their first innovations was the automatic rice cooker that was successful. They were originally called Tokyo Tsushin Kogyo, which is interpreted as Tokyo Telecommunication Engineering Company. These men made a living by repairing radios and manufacturing voltmeters. Later, after many successes, they founded the company Sony in 1946.

Design

The Sony’s MDR-EX33LP is an in-ear design; instead of covering the ears, the earphone goes in the ear. The earphones is pushed a few millimetres into the ear canal, this helps prevents external noise coming in whilst listen to the sound coming from the earphones.

There are many colours to choose from. You can buy this earphone in green, blue, gold, silver, white, or pink. The green ones are my favourite.

The cable is 1.2 meters long, which is of average length. Without the cable the earphone piece weighs a super feather weight of 3 grams only. Very incredible as I do not know any that weighs that little. The cable is adjustable, it has a slider for is it to be extended or shorten to suit.

It has this unique pearl shape to it, which may look modern and good but in my opinion, they are annoying. When you try to take the earphones out of your ears, there is no grip to pull the earphones. The shape of the earphones would make our fingers slip off. Therefore the alternative is to pull the cable. I do not like this as it damages the connection between the cable and the buds.

Sound Quality

The MDR-EX33LP gives great sonic performance and excellent deep bass.
With the frequency range of 6 – 23,000 Hz, it gives an excellent sound range for all preference. Although many newer earphones have a range of 4 – 26,000 Hz, this earphone does the job

Comfort

This earphone comes with hybrid silicone rubber ear buds in different sizes. The rubber is to feel more comfortable as it moulds inside your ear. But I still do not like this version of earphones, I prefer the old plastic earphones.
