Sony MDR-EX35LP
Hi, this review is about Sony MDR-EX35LP earphone.
The brand Sony is very popular with their high standards quality products. It is very rarely heard of that their products become faulty... beside Playstations.
This earphone has a neat and tidy design. It is slim and simple but not so stylish. That does not really matter as when do you get someone checking your earphones. Most of them looks practical the same. In the Sony website (http://www.sony.co.uk/product/hip-ex-series/mdr-ex35lp), there is an option of white, red and black colour. But elsewhere, for example ebay, there are colours available in pink, blue and gold... mainly from Hong Kong.
There is no additional extension cord but the cord is long enough with a length of 1.2m. There is a slider so you could adjust the length and also it helps prevent tangling. There is not pouch or case that you could put this in.
It comes with 3 different sizes of silicone rubber ear buds. There are obviously small, medium and large. Same colour as the packet it comes in. So you cannot mix unless you buy them. The rubber helps prevent the earphone from slipping out. These are becoming very popular technology. It is comfortable to wear as it feels like is fits perfectly by expanding inside your ear. It is to block out sound around you and let you enjoy your music straight from the player. But the downside is that you have to be careful when crossing traffic. You might not clearly hear on coming traffic.
This earphone has a frequency response 6 - 23,000 Hz , this is normal now with most earphones. There is no volume control on the earphone, so you would need to adjust the volume on your player. Is has a 9mm driver unit for a wide dynamic range and 400kJ/m3 high-power neodymium magnet.
Price: It currently ranges between £8 to £20 [19/07/09]. Most retailers price it around £20, but on ebay, the cheapest is £8.99. Tesco.com is selling it at £14.97.
I would recommend this to anyone. It is ideal as a replacement for lost or damage earphones to mp3 or cd players. Or any headphone socket of 3.5mm. This includes desktops and laptops computers. Or you could just have it as a spare just in case.
