The pretty looking silver grey earpieces are ergonomically designed to give the user maximum comfort whilst achieving the highest quality of sound output from their specific player. I am for ever having problems with earphones / pieces which ever you prefer, it seems that no matter how much I pay for them one ear always goes dead on me. I can still listen to my music but only through one ear which takes away a lot of the sound quality and therefore pleasure. If music truly is the food of love then if one is feeling romantic one is going to need a decent set of headphones or earpieces to keep the emotion on a high. There are hundreds of options available for the avid listener here ranging from a few quid right up into the hundreds. An economical and trustworthy option might be the Sony MDR E289V.
The pretty looking silver grey earpieces are ergonomically designed to give the user maximum comfort whilst achieving the highest quality of sound output from their specific player. Their actual description is Fontopia ear bud stereo headphones. They arrive with a hard plastic case and with a wire length of 1M which is adequate for most users. They use neodyminium magnets which are apparently superior to the conventional Samarium Cobalt or Aluminum magnets although to the average user I'm guessing the actual difference will be hardly noticed. Now if you are going to ask me what neodyminium is I'm afraid I'm goosed, haven't the foggiest, and you would get a similar reply for Samarium Cobalt, but they both sound pretty neat whatever they are, as does the sound which these tiny little miracles produce.
With a frequency range of 12 - 22,00Hz you are going to hear crisp sharp tones from your MP3 player which will enhance your enjoyment and listening pleasure. They are of course stereo phones………………..can you still get Mono ones and does anyone actually remember Mono? Of course you do. Now there are numerous other specifications which on paper are very impressive if you are of a mind for that kind of detail, most of the specs though are way over my head, me I'd much rather just judge them for what they are earpieces to enjoy my music by. The price for these varies considerably on the internet ranging from around £5.99 way up to £18.99.………………guess which one I opted for.
Earpieces I have used in the past tended to have a small foam covering which sometimes did appear to make them more comfortable, and on other occasions seemed to make them just that little shade too tight. These Sony one's fit very nicely and no not cause some of the usual discomfort associated with such devices. The 3.5 mm jack plug fit's the majority of devices requiring earpieces or speakers, but should you require an adaptor to make the 3.5mm into 2.5mm as some units do then they are readily available on the net for only a few quid. As I said there are hundreds of options out there but for my reasonably small output I have indeed acquired a very good set of earphones which provide me with an excellent sound and as of yet have not deteriorated into a one piece unit as many of it's predecessors have, one of the reasons for this might well be that when not in use these are stored in the container provided and are not subjected to as much hassle as previous sets have been. So perhaps the blame is not so much on the units as it is on the owner.
This is one of a few Sony products I have purchased and I am now aware of the fact that the quality of build is definitely superior to other models, and that the additional cost sometimes associated with Sony products may well be a good investment since they would appear to last that bit longer. So it would seem that the pay less get less philosophy is quite fitting here at least. I think my outlay was well spent, since I do now have a quality set of ear-buds and my music sounds better than ever.
Advantages: Good sound control; Great bass sound; Disadvantages: Case is tricky to use
As far as earphones go I have never had that much luck. I lost my original iPod earphones, the replacement pair of Mikomi ones stopped working in one ear and the most recent pair, made by Phillips, broke after the covers that protect the actual in-ear parts broke off. As well as this I had struggled with sound on previous ear phones too, they were often far too quiet. Therefore when purchasing my new pair I vowed to look after them in return for ... ...the extra cost has paid off.
First of all they have the brilliant sound control feature. This makes it easier to adjust the volume whilst leaving the MP3/iPod in one's pocket. Also, this seems to automatically make the earphones have a louder capability. Upon using them I immediately noticed the improvement in bass. I often have the bass booster setting selected on my iPod but with previous ear phones have failed to notice the difference, with these ...
