I was told that these would not be worth the effort and most of all money but believe me they were much better than anyone could have prepared me for. I suggest you buy these headphones if you have music in your profession such as a DJ or if you work in a recording studio. I hope you enjoy this product as much as i have and still am

The unique open air acoustic, cordless design and 33-foot transmission range of these headphones allows the user to move freely around the room while still enjoying a very impressive surround sound experience. The MDR-IF5000 headphones have oversized 40mm drivers and neodymium magnets that are larger than most headphones for deeper bass response in a compact unit. The self-adjusting headband and soft cloth ear cushions provide added comfort for extended wear. Long-stroke 12-µm polyester film diaphragms feature low mass for superb transient response while new diaphragm shape resists bending and flexing, for low distortion. BTL headphone amplifier eliminates the coupling capacitor for enhanced bass. Oxygen-free copper internal wiring minimizes transmission loss and automatic power switch conserves battery life. These headphones feature a separate balance control and single volume control that conveniently adjusts the volume for both channels. Please note that these headphones cannot be used without an infrared transmitter.
