I bought these from the Sony shop but you should be able to get them elsewhere for around £60. Considering the quality and functionality I consider this to be good value for money. There may be a newer model out so check before you buy.

Why would you want to buy wireless headphones anyway?
================================ Well, I can give you lots of reasons:1. You have someone asleep in the house (baby, night worker etc) and you want to watch TV without disturbing them. 2. You want to listen to your music while your partner watches the TV. 3. You want to watch the TV while your partner listens to their music. 4. Your partner is hard of hearing and turns up the TV too loud. Give them headphones and keep the volume down to where you want it to be. 5. You are vacuuming but still want to hear the TV/radio/music. 6. You want to do the gardening to music, or while listening to your pavourite programme. 7 You want to listen to the source from another room. 8. You want to watch TV in bed but your partner wants to sleep. 9. You are hard of hearing and miss the details because of people talking around you. 10. You don't want to miss any of the plot while you go to the bathroom!.
Why These Particular Headphones? ============================
I can't make that decision for you but I hope that I can give you enough information to compare them to their rivals.
How They Work =============
They work by transmitting the sound by using radio frequencies.
1. Put the rechargeable batteries (supplied) into the headset. 2. Plug the base unit in to the mains.Switch on the power. 3. Stand the headphones onto the base unit and rock them forward/backwards until they click into place. 4. Leave them to charge. The first charge takes the longest. After then, each time you use them you just put them back into the base unit and they recharge in a shorter time.
When you put them on for the first time you need to tune them in to whatever it is you want to listen to.
1. Plug the headphone jack into the source headphone socket (it should have a little symbol depicting headphones on it) 2. Put the headphones on. The headband adjusts to a comfortable fit. It also functions as an on'off switch so that when you take the headphones off they automatically switch off. 3. Twiddle the tuning wheel on the headphones. Do this with care as you might have the sound turned up and you don't want to deafen yourself! 4. Adjust the volume.
And that is pretty much all there is to it.
Sound Quality ===========
Because they operate on radio transmission, the sound quality depends on the signal getting through. You will find that turning your head may produce interference, or hissing or crackling. This depends on the source, I think. Generally it is not a problem.
Range ======
100metres or two floors depending which direction you take them
Battery life ========
Up to 18 hours when fully charged. 28 hours if alkaline (non-rechargeable) batteries are used. Automatic on/off function on the headphones to preserve battery life.
Transmission ===========
The base unit transmits the signal. It has three channels.
Other Information ==============
They look good, are comfortable and not heavy.
