Strange title? Well this is how these headphones feel the first time you put them on, they simply feel right, no pressure anywhere, just the feeling that there's something on your head !
I wrote another opinion recently about a lower spec set of Sony headphones, that were bought while I was making up my mind what I REALLY wanted from a set of headphones. I think I've found what I'm looking for at last!
The spec sheet on these cans is quite impressive, frequency response 5Hz- 30kHz (Can you actually hear 5Hz?), there's a 40mm driver unit with neodymium magnet for superior response, power handling up to 1000mW max (that's a watt of power !), 45ohm impedence.
The cable is from one earcup only, and is coiled (reaches 3m/9.8ft extended), has a 3.5mm plug fitted and comes with a 6.3mm adapter that screws to the smaller plug for a more secure fit (all gold plated of course).
The earcups will fold up into the headband, and the headphones come with a travelling bag. The earcups fit around the ear (circum-aural) to seal out other sounds, and give a more comfortable fit on the head, aided by the soft padded headband.
How much does all this cost? Well, according to the Sony.com site, they cost $99 US (about £65 UK), and they would be worth the money at that price, but as usual, I went looking on ebay, and got mine for $40 (£25) from a seller who also has a website- www.Dakmart.com I had to add something like $24 delivery, so the total I paid is about £40 UK, so I'm happy with that deal, especially as I haven't actually seen these for sale in the UK officially.
Sound quality is excellent on these headphones, the clarity is superb, I can hear all the notes, and the imperfections on live tracks. I have really come to value a good set of headphones, they make the sounds coming from the stored music on my laptop so much better. There's a question about durability on the menus below, that's something I can't comment on yet, but they seem made to last, and the earpads are replaceable when the time comes.
I'd definitely recommend these headphones, especially if you can get a good price as I did.
