This has got to be the Rolls Royce of component minidisc players.
There are few manufacturers of minidisk recorders but as you would expect Sony has more than anyone else. They have taken the design to a new height and made it a joy to listen to as well as to use. This deck offers full control of recording and titling, uses the latest compression standard for best sound and looks pretty good too.
The digital recording is excellent and speaking as one who has come from the world of cassette it's mind blowing in the lack of background noise (or tape hiss). Copies are, of course, every bit as good as the first but due to SMCS of course are limited to one generation.
But the real selling point of this deck has to be the pc keyboard input. Take a standard PC keyboard and plug it in and the decks functions are really opened up. Of course you have to do a bit of labeling of keys to help the grey cells but it makes track and title editing as easy as 3.1415729.....
You'll not find a better minidisk deck out there (until sony bring out the 940 anyway)
