I hope I can do this unit justice - it deserves all the praise it gets!
After messing around trying to connect my MP3 player to my Ford head unit (with some success), I decided to have a look around at what was on offer. To my amazement I found this fantastic head unit at about the £150 mark in Halfords. I decided to treat myself and purchased the head unit and also a kit so I could still use the steering wheel stalk controller. Wow I feel treated now!
The BT3600 is a truly amazing piece of kit - I won't mention all the functions as there are so many - numerous websites have them listed if you search the model name.It goes without saying that the sound quality is excellent and display is clear - layout of the buttons slightly improved over previous Sony head units.
The build quality is the high standard you would expect from Sony - all the buttons, switches and connectors feel well put-together and like they will stand much abuse when my fingers desperately jab at them to change the track from Mika.
I have a Sony Walkman MP3 player which connects seamlessly to the unit - once connected via USB I can search tracks, skip, randomise...all from the head unit!
The BT3600 also takes and make my phone calls via Bluetooth - fantastic call quality means safer driving - and no need for separate accessories! I can also stream music (via Bluetooth) to the unit, playing whatever's on my phone through the car speakers! This is great if I've forgotten to take my MP3 player!
Of course it has the standard 3.5mm jack socket as well so my friend can plug in his iPod. The CD function is always a great backup if you just want to avoid Mika then go back to radio.
I am so very impressed with my new toy I would recommend it to anyone.
