it with. The capture time would be about 2-3 seconds. Saving to the floppy drive is slower than saving to the memory card but having the 2 options is very useful if you have run out of space on one or the other.
The battery seems to keep its charge when left for a few weeks without using it.
Overall i would recommend it especially for those of you looking to purchase a camera for ebay use. It is no longer manufactured so searches on ebay are your best bet. The memory sticks are still produced both by sony and several other manufacturers such as sandisc and lexar. ...

This is my first review of anything remotely technical, apart from a tumble dryer, which doesn?t count, because all you do is chuck in the clothes and shut the door! So I apologise now, to all the dedicated reviewers of digital cameras, please bear with me and I will try my best.

Brilliant, user friendly Digital camera! Well done Sony. Chose FD 90 over FD 85. Mavica range was recommended by existing users and I did not consider any other manufacturers. The most difficult task was to choose from the Mavica range. This camera's greatest attribute is recording to floppy disk. No hassle transfers to PC. Camera also has a disk copying feature for on the spot copying. Excellent for web site creation or e-mail transmission of images. Has 16X digital zoom. One of the main purchase criteria for a digital camera was the ability to also have a wide angle lens. This was available as an extra but not many cameras have this option which is essential for internal shots, etc. Various filters are also available of which I also ordered two and a reasonable range of accessories for this camera appears in Sony's catalogue. Manufacturer's product description
The MVC-CD1000 is one of the most significant product announcements in the digicam industry in the last 12 months, and a likely harbinger of things to come. Above and beyond the innovative use of CD-R technology, the Mavica MVC-CD1000 offers advanced picture quality, including 2.1 mega-pixel resolution and the ability to shoot in TIFF and high quality MPEG modes. Sony's implementation of the CD-R format enables faster image processing, dramatically decreasing image recording time. Images captured with the MVC-CD1000 can be recorded in several modes. The MVC-CD1000's powerful combination of high resolution and 10x optical zoom - equivalent to a 35mm camera 400mm lens - enables the MVC-CD1000 to fill the frame with subjects from a greater distance and capture them with greater clarity. Working with the powerful zoom, Sony has also added a feature rarely seen in the digital camera marketplace - a through-the-lens viewfinder using a bright, crisp color LCD to ensure that what you see is what you shoot.
