Sony Multiscan G220

...Hi, my name is frogger and here is my opinion about Sony multiscan F500. F500 - the first monitor, acuipet tube Trinitron flat as across and on a vertical. This fact, in aggregate with newest electronic gun Сони and high technology of focussing does(makes) the given monitor ideal for professional problems(tasks). In flat Trinitron the cathode with the raised(increased) maintenance(contents) of tungsten that sharply has allowed to raise(increase) density of an electronic beam is applied and, thus, to improve focussing. The same purpose is served with technologies of electronic lenses MALS and EFEAL, compensating increase of the size and distortion of the form of a light stain at removal(distance) from the centre of the screen. ...I have now had a Sony Multiscan 200EST for about two years, moving around the world with it, and it's still fantastic. The colors, the sharpness and the clarity of the picture are still much better than a lot of other monitors I've seen, including active TFT flat panel (only Sony Vaio has monitors of the same quality - what I've seen so far). Having an IBM G76 at work you realize how much more your eyes are going to relax sitting in front of the Sony at home, though both are running at 1024*768 with >80 Hz. The 'two' famous lines might disturb a bit editing photos, but since they give you the clear picture, it's worth it. So if you are dealing with graphics, it's a fantastic buy, but you do need a good video card to power it. And it's not just a question of video memory, 8 MB are actually enough for the resolution, but the update... Read review

...I've found that the past 15 or so Dell monitors I've come across have been Sony's. There have been exceptions but this seems to be the general rule. I'm not going to give an opinion on any single monitor but instead a general comment about all of them. I know it's easy to say that they are excellent monitors as they're Sony but even those that weren't Sony were superb. In general Dell seem to have gotten their act together in terms of what they're supplying. The quality/cost ratio is getting better all of the time. And soon we can expect them to stop re-brnaind gentirely in my opinion. I feel that they've come far enough to start to just say, hey , we supply monitors from XYZ and guess what…. We say they're good enough for us so they're good enough for you. Hopefully this will cut-down on the extra processes needed to get the monitor to... Read review
