Advantages: Nice size screen, clear mapping, east to use, clear directions, impossible to get lost! Disadvantages: Crashed once but a quick reset and all was fine!
Have been using this for a week now, got it on sale at Argos for £150, reduced from £250 which was a real bargain. Setup is very quick and easy, the unit works out of the box and requires only a couple of basic options to be set using the touchscreen before you can use it.
The cradle is excellent and is the best I've seen on any sat-nav unit, it is super strong at sticking to the windscreen or dash and it doesn't leave a mark on the windscreen at all - handy to stop the sat nav thieves who now look for those tell-tale cradle marks on the windscreen.
The unit doesn't come with a mains charger but can be charged using a USB port on your PC (cable supplied). Not sure why you'd want to use this as it also comes with a car charger which you can leave plugged into your cigarette lighter socket. I haven't tried running the battery down ...

I have to say there are only four points I have found to date.
The first and biggest one is the battery life. This I have found to be somewhat pathetic. Sony quote a meagre two and a half hours of battery life. However I have found that in reality with the screen set to its brightest , battery life is at very best around one to one and a half hours. I can only presume that this is the downside to having the larger and brighter display screen. Having said that since the satnav is permanently plugged into the lighter socket, it does not pose a serious problem.
Secondly, on very odd occasions, guidance instructions could be improved upon. An example of this I found was on approaching the end of the M6. Although quite clearly shown ...

Advantages: Good, cheap, simple. Disadvantages: Can get lost or stolen.
. This means you only need to pass a single tree for the device to momentarily lose the signal, by the time it has found it again, you have passed under another tree. If there are tall trees on either side of the road, then forget it. This model is not alone here, my old TomTom was the same. Another snag is when roads are re-aligned, the software is not kept up to date, the M62/A1 junction is a good example, the sat navs just get lost here, not a major problem if you know where you are, but it does defeat the object surely?
The name is also one possible backward step, names like Walkman are legendary, but who is going to wax lyrical about their SonyNV-U52 GPS receiver, when TOMTOM is easier?
The only other thing I can pick fault with, is the fact that it is not Bluetooth compatable, you can not answer the phone through it, although ...
