When you think of a games console you think heavy, uncomfortable and always getting tangled in wires. Well not the PS3 sixaxis controller.
The first point of interest is the wireless cabability of the controller. The controller uses bluetooth which allows a constant stream of information from the controller to the PS3 with no lag time. The second is because it is bluetooth the range of the controller is about 20m, you will never need this much length but it means there will be no-where in the room that you can't use it. The last point about bluetooth is that it does not need a direct connection therefore the contoller doesn't have to be in direct vie of the PS3.
The next point is that the controller is incredibly light but also very strong and will not break under any pressure from high stress games. The only bad thing about being really light is that there is no rumble pack in the controller although one is being made apparently. But if there was a rumble pack not only would it be really heavy but there would be no six axis.
What is six axis? The six axis are up-down, left-right, forward-back, rotate left-right, rotate up-down and rotate sideways. This allows you to shake steer and carefully move things that are on the screen. Some examples of the sixaxis in action is shaking an alien off you or fire off you in Resistance: Fall of Man and if you are feeling adventuras you can use the controller to steer in Motorstorm. The sixaxis is not used as much as the wii's controller however it still has great potential.
The battery on the controller lasts for about a couple of weeks before you have to plug the controller back into the PS3 via a USB cable. Up to 7 controllers can be used at once on one PS3 console. The final good point about the contrller is that as long as the PS3 is on standby the contoller can turn on the console and turn it off from any distance.
