This is the perfect monitor. It has a big flat wide screen great for movies, games and all other sorts of office works, including graphics design and surfing the web. An LCD monitor however does have a native resolution which means it has only one resolution which it will display properly, all the other ones it only simulates which leads to terrible picture clarity. You may be thinking; why on earth would anyone want to lower their resolution? and the answer is to play newer games. Games are requiring more and more graphics power to play these days and it becomes even more difficult when you want to play it on your native resolution on your new mointor. With this monitor you don't need these worries, I'll give you an example: When I played Crysis on my computer I played it on high @ 1680 x 1050 but is was just a bit too slow, so I brought it back a bit to 1440 x 900, at the same time I could play bioshock @ 2304 x 1440, that is the kind of range this mointor has, and because of this it will also give a longer life to your graphics card.
Perfect widescreen picture, great screen size with super high resolutions at very high refresh rates, watch movies in HD, play games in any resolution = The Perfect Monitor (besides the size and weight).
