I bought PSP 3004 a month ago . Trust me, it gives me the real bang for the buck. The hardware it possess inside is really a powerful beast that bolsters almost any kind of advanced graphics made so far.The fact of the matter is that you will feel much more excited when you exploit it for not only games, but also for other features viz. watching videos, listening to music and internet surfing.
Coming to the specifics,it has a characteristic piano black color and a sleek appearance that fits in your hands very cosily. The display screen has quite a good resolution that throws out the videos or pictures with very high clarity.Furthermore the positions of various buttons and the analog stick is arreanged in such a way that they are quite easy to handle. In fact, My most favourite apsect is the presence of L and R buttons that gives me a hand in flicking through the handful of images stored in the sony's conventional memory stick duo. Also the presence of PS button come in handy when we want to quit from the game quickly and go to the other section, otherwise it would have been a tedious task of backtracking all the way to main menu and doing it. In addition to all these, it handles I/O needs quite a good way. The distinctive feature is the availability of the video jack to transfer the signal to TVs,although you wont get the full resolution it supports. Also there is a microusb port to transfer the videos, images or music files.I am sorry to bring this up but this is quite annoying, the audio level of the in built speaker is very low which they should have worked upon in the first place.
Having said all about the external features, let me cut to the chase about the firmware. Needless to say, the user interface is quite intuitive thereby even a naive user can handle it with lot of ease. The transition from one section to another is pretty smooth and it is no more could have done better. The fascinating feature is that you could very well turn off the device in the middle of the game.So the next time you turn it on it will play from the exact place where you left.
The wireless capability allows you to connect to the internet which opens the door for exicitng stuffs. You could connect to the PSN to download latest game trailers, game demos, themes, wallpapers etc free of cost. There is also an option of remote play which enables you to connect the PSP to PS3 and hence can connect to online gaming.A notable feature is the PSP browser which allows you to browse through various websites.
All in all the build quality is way better than the other handheld devices.Performance and feature wise is also good. You certainly dont regret that you have shelled out bigger chunk of money, as it will satisfy the whole of your gaming thirst. PSP rockzzz...Unleash the potential within.
