Since 1995 I have been a loyal fan of the Playstation and over the years have enjoyed many games like Tekken ,12 and 3, Final Fantasy series, Metal Gear Solid, the 2 higly addictive Driver games and not to mention the WWF/E games then I heard WWF Smackdown 3 was coming out on the PS2 and me and my brother started collection our pennies (lol) But my dad did the lottery and won £10 and on the way back from town my brother convinced him to do another lottery which was the Christmas millionaire maker which cost £5, my dad was yelling at him saying you made we waste half my winnings and so on then on Saturday came the big draw and we matched I think 3 number winning use £109 as you can tell my dad was happy as hell and he promised it would go toward our ps2.
IN THE BOX
When you get the sexy blue box inside should be:-
1X Sony Playstation 2 console 1X Official Dual Shock 2 control Pad 1X power
cable 1X euro SCART adapter 1X lead to connect the console to the TV (three wires Red, white and yellow) 1X demo disk 1X set of instructions and registration information.
SETTING UP
Setting up the ps2 is straight forwards plug the control pad into the front plug the wire in to the TV and the other end into the console and the power cable into the ps2 and the plug in the mains. Now switch it on with out anything in the disk tray and set the time and date then configure the picture and sound according to your setup if you have a memory card insert it into the memory card slot and go to the browser and select the memory card and it will give you the option to format it which needs to be done in order to save games. Now the Ps2 in ready for gaming.
CONTROL PAD
The control pad in the best pad out of all gaming pads as it was such a success on the ps2 they decided to use the same on the ps2 with the new addition on a longer wire and pressure sensitive buttons.
RANGE OF GAMES
The range of games on this games console is unbelievable it has great games for all target audience for children it has football games like FIFA and the hugely popular pro evolution soccer series, and games for smaller kids like Disney range and nickelodeon series like Rugrats etc. The ps2 is not just for kids as it has 18 rated great games like the great Grand Theft Auto series and not forgetting The Getaway which is a great crime based gamed in London. The list is endless game not for getting the up coming games like the anticipated DRIV3R (Driver 3) and GRAND THEFT AUTO: SAN ANDREAS
RANGE OF FEATURES
The ps2 in the most interactive console as of yet as it has online gaming using the broadband adapter, And games like Socom U.S Navy seals which allow you to talk to your team mates using a fully functional USB headset. Sony have invented the best thing for the ps2 called the eye toy this is basically a camera which you position on top of the TV and it plugs into the USB port on the front of the console this comes with a disk full of games, Basically you are on the screen and you have games like "keep it up" which is a football game and you have to keep the football in the air. Their are 12 games on the disk provided and Sony have released the new dancing disk called grove too. (This is a blast when playing with mates after having a few pints).
GENRAL
This is the best Next gen console no doubt but the only major problem is after a few years it will stop playing games and start giving you a disk read error, This has been a major problem and has been featured on BBC's Watchdog program. Sony only offer you a replacement service or a repair costing £70+ when this is clearly designed to cock up after a few years now Sony have released a new edition of the console with the I.link removed and built in IR sensor and is said to have resolved the disk read error. Also on my console i recently relised my viabration the control pads is not working and all sony careline had to say was "we can offer you a replacement or a repair for £60+ and i was like get "F"ed.

(+) Plenty of storage space, for media. Good Games, Great for partys, with singstar. Very Reliable. (-) Sometimes the optical drive, breaks; but not very likely, my 60gb still working after 2 1/2 years.
Advantages: It's Sony! It's got the most software developer support! Final Fantasy continues! Disadvantages: It's quite ugly, graphics are jagged in places

Advantages: Loads of games, doubles up as a DvD player, plays PS1 games. Disadvantages: Needs a mulitap for 3 players or more, Games should be cheaper.
