Playstation 3 is the third home video game console produced by Sony Computer Entertainment. The PlayStation 3 competes with Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Nintendo's Wii as part of the seventh generation of video game systems. It was first released on November 11, 2006, in Japan, November 17, 2006 in North America, and March 23, 2007 in Europe and Oceania.

November 11, 2006: This is when it had its debut in Japan(Japan always releases stuff before other countries, which is good)
November 17, 2006: this is the second place that the Playstation 3 got released, it was released in North America.
March 23, 2007 :this is the last place that the Playstation 3 got released, it was released in Europe, Australia, the Middle East, Africa and New Zealand.(it took a lot of time to be released in the Europe.
~~~Versions~~~
The versions of the Playstation 3 are 40 GB (not that good) The 60GB version (this is what I have) And there is the 80 GB version (that has lots of memory).
Out of those I prefer the 80 GB version because it has the most memory and you can save lots of games on it, the 40 GB version ids useless because you can save as many as the 80 GB version plus you can download games on the Playstation 3 so the 40 GB version can't download as many games as the 80 GB or the 60 GB, the ones that are recommended to buy is the 80 GB version and the 60 GB version because the 60 GB can store games like all the versions of the Playstation 3 which are the 40 GB, the 60 GB and the 80 GB

~~~About Playstation 3~~~
Playstation 3 is manufactured by Sony, Foxconn and ASUSTeK, it was first available on November 11, 2006, I think it should have been launched earlier because this is an excellent console. Maybe they had years putting the features.
Playstation 3's media is Blu-ray Disc,dvd,cd and Super Audio CD. Its system storage is 2.5" SATA hard drive(20 GB, 40 GB, 60 GB, or 80 GB. The colours for Playstation 3 are black and silver, Playstation 3 is written in silver, some of the edges are in silver too(where you insert the disk) and the console is all covered in black. Black suits the Playstation and is more attractive than the silver, Playstation 3 can play DVDs, blu ray, music CDs and many more, this console is much more better than Playstation 2 and Playstation 1, Playstation 1 is crap and Playstation 2 standing out by the Playstation 3, Playstation 3 has a shorter name it is PS3 like it's written on the ps3.
Accessories
The accessories are the sixaxis controller, the dual shock 3 controller, the BD Remote(the remote for the playstation 3), the PlayStation Eye(the playstation 3's camera , like the playstation 2's camera which is caled I toy) and many more accessories.
~~~My personal opinion ~~~
Playstation 3 is one of the best consoles I have seen so far because it has got lots of memory so you can save the data of the games. I had this console for about two months and this console hasn't had any problems with it. It has got blu ray so it can't play normal DVD's, you can download demo's and games. It's a bit similar to a computer, because you can chat on the computer and you can chat to your friends and both of them have google, yahoo and msn.
Plus you can play games on it , but you have to insert a disc. Also you can put pictures on it, you can create accounts, with any name you want. Some the games are excellent and some of the games aren't, but some of the games on the computer that I like is minesweeper, pinball and spider solitair.You can download a game, but you have to use a cd. I would rate this console 9 out of ten because it is attractive, entertaining and the colour is great.

Playstation 3 's cost was esti they $805 .85 for the 20gb model and the 60 GB model was estimated $840.35 however, were priced at US$499 and US$599, The manufacturing costs $250 per unit sold, contributing to Sony's games division posting an operating loss of ¥232.3 billion (US$1.97 billion) in the fiscal year ending March 2007. In April 2007. After those results were published, Ken Kutaragi who was the head of gaming at Sony.

(+) Plenty of storage space, for media. Good Games, Great for partys, with singstar. Very Reliable. (-) Sometimes the optical drive, breaks; but not very likely, my 60gb still working after 2 1/2 years.

Advantages: Some very good games now. Great media features especially with the Blu-Ray player. Disadvantages: Few exclusives. The Wii and 360 are much cheaper and have better games.

Review of Sony PlayStation 3 (PS3)
Advantages: Amazing graphics, wireless controls, blu ray dvd player and upscaler, large memory capacity. Disadvantages: Quite heavy to hold, larger updates take a while to complete
Advantages: It has internet, chat, picture combiner. It supports every ps3 games and never lags. Disadvantages: Sometimes freezes on some games, Fallout 3 in particular. Internet is slow sometimes.
