The PSP (playstation portable) is a unique games console, which allows you to walk about with it anywhere. Also, it includes music, videos, gaming, photos and internet just like the PS3. WOW! It has a very stylish body, which has an analog stick to move your people/players move easier. This has recently been updated to look more sleek, thin and most of all cooool! The newly released games are still included for the PSP and the quality is astounding for such a small device. Another feature is that you can buy a certain camera to put on the PSP so you can snap away anywhere, without having to buy a really expensive one. The quality of the pic is exceptional, since the device was not made for such an advanced feature. If you and your mate have the same game you can also play against each other on that game. The feature is extremely useful as you do not have to by a PS3 or an X-box 360 which cost almost twice the amount of the PSP.
Games
The variety of games on PSP are fabulous including all of the new releases, which certainly makes it better than the PS2, which unfortunately has stopped making new games for the console. The graphics are average and could
be improved, with the long loading sections and fuzzy screens, which makes that its weakness. The selection of games includes some awesome ones such as: Lego Star Wars, Call Of Duty, Fifa, The Simpsons Game, Tiger Woods PGA Tour (a must get) and much more sensational games which are also on PS3. For different games you have to download software, depending on the type and if it's new. This process lasts about 4 minutes at the most, so do not be put off. If you love the PS3 games, which are epic you will adore the ones on the PSP, not only because they are the same but also because you can move about with it anywhere even the toilet. The shops which sell these wonderful games are normally either Game or Gamestation, which sell a variation of children's games and adults games.
Videos
You can download videos from the computer, but it sadly takes reasonable amount of time and effort, so I recommend you buy them from a local store. There is vast selection of videos, including animation, action, romance and much more genres to choose from. They cost between, depending on the type, 10pounds-20pounds, which is a somewhat average price, so defiantly consider it. The quality is good, but you can watch it wherever you want, which is a huge advantage, so you will not get people disturbing you while you are watching. Unfortunately the screen is pretty small so you will not be able to have several people watching during the same time. Going back to the downloading, when you have downloaded it the quality is poor, stopping and starting every ten seconds. It takes about the time of the movie to download and sometimes does not work. Also, it is extremely complicated to do to, going the through a variety of sections before even downloading it.
Music
You can download music from your computer quite easily to enhance your PSP's space and to make the most of the device. Downloading can take a reasonable amount of time, so do not expect miracles'. It is not that complicated to do and can take less than 20 minutes, so it is vey useful if you can not afford and iPod or a simple mp3 player. You can access the music really easily and listening is only a click away. The music is great, with no trouble hearing it at all. While listening you can also watch firework like waves on the screen, which helps you to relax a bit more and sooth yourself. This feature is defiantly essential for making the PSP what it is.
Photos
The photo feature lets you download all kinds of pictures and photos to set as backgrounds and much more. You can also send pictures to each other, which is a great idea if you see something on someone else's PSP and love it. It also gives you a chance to show off photos which you have found on the internet. Another good thing is that you can buy a certain camera to fit on the PSP so you can take loads of pics instead of buying a really expensive camera. Coming back to backgrounds you can set a background as one of your pictures to enhance your PSP's image. My favourite backgrounds are stylish cars which is a great way to show off to your mates and get them jealous. This is a fantastic Tool!
Bad points
One bad point is graphics, there a bit disappointing to be brutally honest. Not what I expected, at all. It's a bit fuzzy sometimes so you do not get the full image, so that's lets it down a bit. It is really complicated and the instructions do not explain enough of it in good enough detail. But all this is ruled out by everything else the PSP has to offer.
Price: 149 pounds for the standard version (from retailers such as Game, or Amazon) You can also buy diferent packs with extra games or memory sticks which are priced acxcording to what you get.
Conclusion
Overall this is a sensational little device, which is just like a mini PS3. Its got so many excellent features just bursting with enjoyment, its unreal. Personally this could be catching up with the PS3 and maybe the X-box360. Even though it has some week aspects it has some amazing other things just waiting to be found. Also they have just updated it to a new sleek, thin PSP, which looks and feels spectacular. I might buy 2 at this rate! In nearly every way it is spectacular and mind-blowing. You can also create a nickname name for yourself, mine is Jacob (the great one). If you do not want a picture background you can also changes the colour and there is a wide variation of colours to choose from you set as your background. This is the best portable machine ever built! It's stunning!
