the series has spread over a multitude of consoles, each installment getting more and more hype. the latest released over here was fianl fantasy eight - BUY THIS GAME.the opening sequence will have you looking at your psx expecting a small explosion as it pushes back the boundaries to expose you to awesome fmv (full motion video). the quality of the cut scenes means that they make toy story look like it was knocked up by a five year old on a whiteboard.
the plot imerses you to the point where you need to continue, the graphics astound you and the battles test you. many criticise the turn based battlke format but in my opinion it's a battle of wits with the best tactical fighter progressing.
i'll not bore you with a huge review - all i'll say is that the game is a classic, it plays well, looks fantastic and the music score is superb. people may complain but you'll soon see most are the unintelligent peolple who don't understand the twisting plot or jealous owners of other systems. most of all give it a chance!-i played the first disk and thought it was nowhere near the level of ff7, then the pace quickens and you're soon imersed. don't give up on it whatever you do!
