Sony RDRGX3

I bought this machine after my old Panasonic VCR started playing up, as was my 8 year old Sony DVD player. I have to say that it was a doddle to set up the connections and the machine itself. There are loads of connections on it in a variety of formats (scart, s-video, composite, component) which is great. The functions are wide and useful. Programming is easy, as is editing, re-naming, deleting, etc. My only disappointment with it is the playback quality. My old Sony DVD player produces a far better image on the TV. Advantages: Recording has never been so easy, with excellent picture and sound.quality.
Disadvantages: Cooling fan can be heard at times during operation.

...to use a digital TV with 'smart-link'. This works by choosing the program to record from a menu screen on the TV. You can use the numbers printed in TV guides which is very quick as well. It is also possible to do a manual program record. When used with a digital TV, if a program starts late, recording won't start until the new start time.
