Sony RDR-GX3

It was my mum's birthday a few months ago and no one could think of anything that she might want. Finally, i came up with the idea of all clubbing together and getting her a DVD player. (I am not taking credit for this, of course!). So we all put our money together; well my brother and i put a tenner each down and out came my dad's credit card!
We had wanted to get a DVD player for ages but never got round to buying one. So this was a present not only that mum would love but one that we all could enjoy for years to come! She always used to have to watch DVDs on her laptop which had to rest on her lap. This wasn't amazingly comfortable and convenient but now she can relax on the sofa while watching a film. We also had amassed a lot of dvds over the years, so the player goes perfectly with this.

WHICH DVD PLAYER TO BUY?

Well, we did a lot of research on the internet and in shops, on hundreds of models ranging from £60- £700. We wanted to buy a Sony because they are so reliable and we have always found them to be excellent. We have Sony computers, mobile phones, Hi-fi's and the good old Sony Playstation/Playstation 2. All of which are great quality and have lasted really well.
The fact that it had to be Sony and silver (mum is mad on silver, everything from her watch to her car is silver!) narrowed it down a bit.
Anyway, we finally decided on the Sony RDR-GX3 DVD Player. We got a good deal online : it was reduced from £389.99 to £314.99. This is the special online price, some high street prices are as as much as £499.99 for this same model. So we didn't do too badly and it was free delivery which was a bonus.

The Player

This is the second Sony DVD Player that has a full DVD-R/RW and DVD+RW dvd video recorder so it is pretty impressive. It is also the second player in the WORLD to have this type of spec. It is a very sopisticated DVD player but it is suprisingly easy to work. My family have had no problems using and we are hardly the most technoligically advanced people or anywhere near that! Anyway, you will have no problems using it.

Now, this isn't the smallest, lightest and neatest DVD Player but the spec more than makes up for that. It looks very swish even though it's slighly chunky!

We all absolutely love our DVD Player. It looks great, everybody always comments on it when they walk into the room.
It's very powerful and has so many great features. So much more than just a simple DVD player. It's simple any convenient to use; the one-touch dubbing is tops! You can store all your home movies and edit them really easily while the whole stash of functions.
The picture quality that it produces it absolutely fantastic, really really crystal clear. The soround dound is also excellent and adds to the whole movie-watching experience!
It's quite a safe player to have aswell. It comes with parental control which means that the adults can select which functions the want their kids to use/not use. They can also programme it to only accept films of a certain rating. For example it would play U, PG, 12 ratings but not 15 or 18 ratings. Another good function.
It's at a very affordable price. We payed just over £300 for it and i'm sure the price will start to drop. Sony is such a great make aswell which is important when your buying an expensive item like this . It's definely worth the money and considering what you get, it's good value too.

If you are looking for a DVD player, this one is worth considering! It's fun, easy, impressive and reliable. What else do you need?
