Sony recordable DVD player. 24 of 24 Ciao Users found the following review helpful

Advantages Recording has never been so easy, with excellent picture and sound.quality.

Disadvantages Cooling fan can be heard at times during operation.

When my 13 year old Sony Video recorder stopped working, I decided to upgrade to a recordable DVD machine.
Connecting the player to the TV was easy as all the sockets are clearly labelled along with clear instructions,
At first swithch on, the player automatically sets itself up with little imput from the user and all the settings can be altered later if needs be.
Playing a pre-recorded disc is the same as an ordinary player. Recording a program can be done in various ways. The easiest way is to use a digital TV with 'smart-link'. This works by choosing the program to record from a menu screen on the TV.
You can use the numbers printed in TV guides which is very quick as well. It is also possible to do a manual program record. When used with a digital TV, if a program starts late, recording won't start until the new start time.
The remote control allows easy access to all the playback / record options. Discs recorded on this machine can be 'finalised' so that they can be played on other DVD players.
At the rear of the player are all the sound output sockets giving a wide range of options to connect to an amplifier, including an optical cable for 5.1 surround sound.
The cooling fan runs all the time when the player is switched on and can get a bit loud, but never becomes annoying.
When playing an audio CD, the TV switchs itself on as well due to the 'smart-link' which can be irritating but not a problem.
With good build quality, I would expect this product to last many years.
Highly reccomended!

Hi and a warm welcome to ciao. Some good info there in your first, well-written review, although a little short. I hope you enjoy the ciao experience, as I do. Ray
