My experience of this DVD Recorder is dire. The first one broke down after 24 hours - no signal. The replacement lasted 6 days, and i am not having to return it again to John Lewis. I found the instructions to use far too complicated and am wondering what to buy now! I always thought Sony was a reliable make, could this be a 'faulty batch' as JL have suggested. The picture quality was great but I still haven't worked out how to watch one and record another digital channel. The best EPG was my Matsui freeview box and the Sony one was taking a bit of getting used to. I didn't have long enough! My opinions are influenced by the fact that the machines only lasted a couple of days at a time.

Welcome to Ciao. You do a useful service in pointing out the product is unreliable, but that's really all your submission accomplishes. A review needs to be balanced - and provide at least basic information for a purchaser to be able to make an informed buying decision - that means including the good points as well as the bad, a basic run down of the features, as well as telling us where you got it, what comes with it, and how much you paid.
