I got this as a Christmas present from my wife and even she is regretting the purchase now. I feel that she was totally ripped off and seduced by the superficial packaging of a product - that completely lacks substance. Where do I start? The Sony 'SonicStage' software has to be used to load tracks and is well described as among the worst such software available. Lacking any flexibility, it randomly assigns music to either album folders or individual track folders. It competely lacks the facility to sort music in any useful fashion. You will take 3 days on your computer to discover this. All other software is locked out (eg Windows Media). I tried to upgrade the software - but the Sony download site is equally useless - so after another 1 or 2 hours of pointless activity, I gave up in disgust. The player itself is fussy, non-intuitive and has a very poor display. The control buttons are tiny and fiddly to use. Forget the extended 'sport' functions - I ran 10K with it and it told me I only took 36 steps! The worst thing is the sound output. I also use Sennheisers (you get the basic sony crap ear buds with the package) and to power these, you need the player constantly on full volume. After 1 hour, 20% of the power was gone (after I got my magnifying glass out to check the icon) - so I guess that means about 5 hours between charges - far short of the 18 claimed. I am no decibel addict - this device is simply too puny to do the job. Sound quality is poor too - a quick change of headphones back to the old iRiver was like listening to a concert in the Albert Hall compared to the Sony which was like listening to a busker on the tube. Remember it is rechargeable and depends on a mini USB connection - so no scope to simply slot in another battery. This is one very, very disappointing package with no redeeming features. Buy an iRiver - my 3 year old one blows this puny item out of the water every time! JUST DON'T BUY ANY SONY S200 RANGE - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Good review but the huge chunk could be broken up into 3seperate paragraphs for readibility.
