Advantages: Price, sound quality, looks, ease of use & set up
Disadvantages: speakers feel alittle too light for my liking but are very good none-the-less

I bought these from PC world to replace an older 2.1 yamaha set. The difference is amazing; the bass is deep and the higher notes are clear & crisp. I have tried it out with music ranging from Jay-Z to Mozart so far and I have been very impressed. £33 very well spent! My only concern is the satillites feel very light and plasticy... They sound good and feel quite well made but I like a heavy speaker but I guess thats neither here nor there. Setting the speakers up were straight forward, never even opened the instructions... The volume control is easy to use. And the subwoofer is a nice and chunky. Buy these if you want a good set of music speakers that can handle films and games (there are way better ones for those obviously...) But these will make any home audiophiles who havent won the lottery very happy indeed ...

A good, cheap set of 5.1 surround sound speakers.

Advantages: Cheap, fair sound quality and build, good for gaming and films on PC
Disadvantages: Few flaws such as stand not standing up, problem with sub.

for plugging in an MP3 player, or whatever, and listening to it with all 6 speakers. A rather annoying thing about the control system stand, is that it isn't too good at standing up, it is designed so that if you tap it slightly, it will fall straight over, or the wires can even pull it down! I had to put blue tack under it to keep it up! These speaker go loud enough for what they are designed for, although only 5W X 5 + 25W sub, when connected to a computer, they go loud enough to annoy everyone else in the house. All in all, not bad, good for games and film, has a few flaws, Sony could certainly improve it, but it wasn't a bad effort from Sony. ...

A SOUND INVESTMENT

Advantages: Amazing sound, good price
Disadvantages: Heavy

There is little doubt in my mind that computers and the internet have revolutionised the way in which people listen to music. MP3 music files can be downloaded in just a few minutes with a broadband internet connection, computer games have replaced the few mandatory beeps and chirps of yesteryear with full bodied music and character voices, and there is now the option of listening to virtually any radio station in the world with just the click of a mouse button. Of course, the sound you hear when participating in any of those activities is only ever going to be as good as your computers speakers will allow, you may well have the fastest most powerful computer in your street with the latest sound card installed, but if your computers speakers are not up to the job you might as well have saved your money. ●Why I chose Sony SRS-Z ...
