Advantages: ALWAYS ready for use. Disadvantages: None.
seem to perform AT ALL with certain types equipment. Digital cameras in particular, are a problem, especially 'higher drain' Digital SLR cameras.
I have owned Digital SLR cameras where such batteries would not provide more than 44 exposures - and this, without using flash! In reality, with certain devices, I have found them to be almost completely useless.
At first, I thought it might be down to a faulty battery charger, so I exchanged it for another. Still no better! I then exchanged this one for a more expensive one and at the same time also exchanged the batteries (2 sets, both different makes). Still the performance was pathetic.
Even in equipment which doesn't place such high demands on them, they simply do not hold their charge for any length of time. Freshly charged batteries would become flat within just a few days. This ...
Advantages: Good for low power items Disadvantages: Don't last as long as Duracell
I rarely buy Energizer batteries; although they are cheaper than Duracell they don't last as long. I put four AA Energizers into my digital camera and took 100 pictures and then downloaded them. I then did the same with Duracells and found that the Energizers were almost dead but the Duracells were only about half depleted. Duracells can be recharged, somewhat, in an appropriate charger (packaging says they can't); Energisers can?t.
On Ebay a 4-pack of AA Energizer E2 cost £4.69, but Duracell Plus cost £4.99 but for 30p less money you'll get 40-50% less usage.
Recommendation: Use Energizer batteries only in things like clocks and remote control units, but buy Duracells for things like digital cameras and CD players.

Advantages: Fast Charge, Auto CutOff Disadvantages: Only takes AA/AAA
Getting fed up with constantly having to buy new batteries for our Wii remotes, we started looking into buying some of the rechargeable battery packs you can buy for them. I read a few reviews and decided that it would probably be better to buy a battery charger and a few sets of batteries instead.
After looking around I found the Sony High Capacity Super Quick Charger For AA And AAA Batteries and for £16.99 with four AAbatteries included it seemed like a good deal, almost all of our electrical items seem to be Sony so with it being a brand we trusted I bought it.
The charger itself is fairly compact measuring 4" x 2½" x 1" (not including the power lead) it won't take up a lot of room, the power lead is also removable so you can store it away quite easily. The lead is also the same as the other Sony leads we have so if it gets ...
