I spent a long time looking for a truly portable laptop that would still have a large enough keyboard for heavy duty use, and a large enough screen for watching DVDs, which none of the ultra... more

Advantages Advantages Great all round performance

Disadvantages Disadvantages A second battery is a must

I would like to share my experiences of what I now lovingly call my best friend. Firstly I will admit that I am slightly biased towards the Sony brand. Having purchased their products in the past, I have found them not to be particularly competitive with regards to price, but certainly well built and durable. I purchased my Sony for a little over £950 on-line and so far I believe that I have had good value for money. To start with I will list the specifications for all who are interested, those who are not please skip to the part below for a more practical review. Dimensions: W33, D23.6, H3.7 ... more

Advantages Advantages Stylish, Quick + Capable, Large Memory, Large hard drive + excellent screen quality

Disadvantages Disadvantages Overheats very quickly, sound levels are very quiet..

I bought this laptop for £821 from dabs.com as a replacement for my IBM T41. I had spent a long time spent looking at my options after deciding wanted a laptop with a Core 2 Duo T5500(or better), 2GB+ RAM and a screen of around 14". There were a number of laptops available with one or the other but very few that met all of the criteria I had set. The two standout laptops that met my requirements were the Dell XPS 13" and this Sony Vaio C2Z/B. After much deliberating I decided to go for the Sony. This turned out to be a brilliant decision as this has turned out to be a great replacement for my ... more

    Advantages Advantages small, powerful

    Disadvantages Disadvantages short battery life

I recenlty purchased this small but mighty notebook and have been nothing short of impressed at its capabilities. As an avid fan of XP i did find the transition to Vista (the home premium version comes on this machine) a little diffcult, but with a bit of perseverance it all came quite easily very soon. The quality of the screen is exceptional, the crisp monitor allows for easy working, with very little strain on the eyes, alebit once you have adjusted the brightness. That said, the standard of picture makes watching a dvd or internet television on this machine as impressive as some of the HD ... more

    4 Stars Sony Laptop 04/07/2007
    User recommends the product

Advantages Advantages It's weight, it's size, it's visual appeal and it's ease to use

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not clear when it is on or off

I was really pleased with this laptop. It is lightweight, attractive to look at and it is also easy to use. I was expecting it to be lots of hassle to set everything up but i was suprised at how easy it was. Also, most companies bother you all the time with adverts and popups to fill in surveys for them and to join their clubs, Sony did not do this which was good! The touchpad mouse is one of the best i've used as it doesn't get stuck and is big enough. I took it away with me and didn't find it too heavy to be carrying around in my luggage all day because it is a nice size and weight. Overall ... more

Advantages Advantages No latch, fast, user friendly, lightweight, dual core

Disadvantages Disadvantages can get hot, looks too good to want to carry around

The notebook has been trustworthy and fast, since purchase i have not noticed any major flaws. There are many options towards power saving and performance. I bought this notebook with Windows XP previously installed, i then got an option to express upgrade, i accepted and noticed slight lag in performance, but still fantastic worthy performance. The laptop has a very stylish dark, solid look, it feels comfortable, to lean wrists upon. The screen has additional features making it more crystalline sharp than other LCD screens. I also keep referring to this as a laptop due to the conscious ... more
