BUILD QUALITY Sony Laptops are popular, and usually overpriced but they make some cutting edge technology in a stylish package. I run a business where laptops are a nesecsity and I am found replacing them after litlle more than two years and this laptop I can see replacing before then as the build quality is not the usual sony standard ( That you Pay for) instead its more like a style statement. The keyboard although large has small tiny keys that are difficult to type on and the finish close up looks alot worse than you should expect especially from sony I have nothing against functional, stylish laptops like the Apple MacBook Pro, as it has a highly sturdy alluminium build with high specifications. This is a good looking machine in red no doubt about it but the build quality in my opinion is lacking
SCREEN Another thing about this laptop is the screen size. Normally the minimum laptop screen size for a media or entertainmentPC is 15.4 inches this only being 14.1 bothers me but would be suitable for many people. Although the screen is smaller than usual it is of the usual sony quality and has a very sharp definition. Would reccommend it to anyone (If it was bigger)
GRAPHICS
No faults with the graphics card. I could display photoshop documents and any other office task with realitive ease and speed although I'm not sure if this machine could handle games very well
PROCESSER AND MEMORY
As I use XP this laptop runs fine and fast. 2 GB of ram and a dual core processer is more than enough for any number of office tasks. There are no problems at all. Like I said previously I can use high quality photoshop images in photoshop(obviously) and use Microsoft Office. There seems to be no problems with the specifications of this laptop.
OTHER FEATURES
There are loads more features on this laptop that a business user would probably never touch, but they are there. The DVD writer is a definate plus and Sony have finaly included a SD reader which is great for me to tranfer my photos directly from my camera to my photoshop.
CONCLUSION
Although the build quality is a bit lacking and the screen is a bit small this is still a pretty niffty laptop. I would probably buy one with a larger screen and a higher build quality. 4/5 STARS
