I brought my Sony Vaio via Play.com and armed with the easy to use step-by-step setup guide meant that it was not long before I could start exploring its capbilities.
The software pacakges included Roxio and Windows Media Player which made DVD and CD playing and writing effortless as well as a handy 30 days antivirus package so that you could have a bit of time to sort out something later.
The 15.4 inch wide screen makes surfing the internet and watching DVD's a pleasure and registering the product online has meant that I am kept up to date with software upgrades.
Setting up the internet was also a breeze as as soon as I flicked the switch to search for wireless connections it immediately alerted me to those in my area, and it speed at which it connected was fantastic with no glitches or needing to constantly re-connect (touch wood).
The in built speakers are ok but would recommend headphones or buying external speakers for serious music listening or DVD watching.
Having had not so great experiences with touch pad mouses' (or should that be mice) previously I was pleasently surprised at the right level of sensitivity that the Viao displayed.
Great computer for course/home work, game playing, DVD watching and surfing, can couple with mulitple applications at one time.

How helpful would this review be to a person making a buying decision? Rating guidelines
(+) positive aspects include the speed, apperance/design of the laptop, and the enhanced performance. (-) i have a matt black laptop and it shows dirty finger prints.
Sorry for the low rating, but I think that your Review needs a lot more information and detail to justify a higher rating. Computer reviews need lots of technical info together with your commentary on how it all works. It helps if you write every Review as if you’re writing for someone who has virtually no knowledge of what you’re reviewing, in clear non technical language. You might find it helpful if you read and rate some other peoples’ reviews (especially those that have been rated VH or E). It might give you an idea of the sort of things you need to include. If I can be of any help or if you decide to amend your review feel free to put a note in my gb, I’ll be happy to re-read and re-rate. Rich
