Advantages: Unbeatable Price!, Bright Glossy Screen, Lots of features, Superb Stylish Laptop Disadvantages: Not much bundled software, Not Great Speakers
...popped up! A Sony for less than £600! I thought that must be something wrong with it or Sony were cutting corners, but the feature list was so impressive for the price that I bought it (it's been 2 months now). It turned out that i got my hands on a great deal and a really well featured laptop, which is up there with £1000 laptops.
The actual design of the laptop is great, the screen being slim and it has a very modern feel due its matt white finish.
... ...Card Reader - can read Sony memory stick (+pro + duo) and sd cards, which is really handy for people with digital cameras so you don't need to find the USB cable for the camera (which I always lose!)
Wireless LAN built in (IEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11g) - its easy to join wireless networks with this
Intel GMA 950 graphics card
2 USB ports, firewire port (really fast for iPod file transfer), and output for external screen such as a projector

Advantages: Brilliant Design, Can run Vista, Lightweight Disadvantages: Needs more Ram to run vista aero interface with less stress on the processors.
Very powerful for online and overall use of the windows Xp format however when using on Windows Vista this laptop lags behind the rest.
However the dual core element helps the laptop when it needs to be used as a Gaming tool as the two processors can show great graphical power.
With the Core Duo T2250 only realed in May 2006 and with many updates to it since this I would personally reccomend this laptop along with this processor. Coming in at 1.73Ghz ...

Advantages: amazing lcd screen, large hdd Disadvantages: slow when running several applications
Bought as a replacement for my old laptop, I was excited to own a vaio laptop - which by the looks of the demo from the shop i bought it was - was amazing.
This wasnt a cheap purchase at £650 compared to other laptops on the market but i thought i would treat myself!
vista was installed and when using lightly i was very impressed with the interface. that was until i decided to run more than 3 programmes concurrently which caused sufficient lag ... ...features off and run the OS in classic mode.
I was also unimpressed with the speakers - I expected a lot more from a vaio laptop and was shocked that the maximum volume was like a whisper.
The xblack lcd screen is amazing as well as the inbuilt wireless. A very easy pc to use from mediocre tasks but for software developers or programmers i would recommend something with more memory. Once you get around vistas interface! ...

I bought this laptop about a month ago for the bargain price of £599. It is a great laptop with vista premium already loaded and with the wireless all i had to do was click connect and it connected to my set-top box we have for the other laptop. It is easy to use with great feature and would highly reccommend it.
