INTRO I've been using Laptops now for around ten years and must say they are improving beyond belief in every way. I've owned many brands of Laptops that include Dell, Compact, IBM, HP and a Toshiba (most recent), I have always loved the Laptop concept and will now review my new beloved Sony Vaio NR10 Laptop.
LOOKING FOR A NEW LAPTOP As with any other products on today's markets there is usually stiff competition and as far as Computers go it's more competitive now than ever. I began to look for a new Laptop last month in the January sales, which is the best time in my opinion as there's often big mark downs on prices and bargains to be had. Now the funny thing is I've always been a big Sony fan in every way (especially Sony Trintron TV''s) but never owned a Sony Computer or Laptop, so Sony was at the top of my list to look into. When you first start looking for a new Laptop it can be quite tiresome as there is so many brands and specifications on these machines but don't be put off by this as you will soon pick up on the most important features you require from both looking on the Internet and frequent trips to the High Street, whether you need a built in Webcam,17"screen.or have a speedy processor, etc., etc.
I personally wrote down a list of the brands/manufacturers that I would consider purchasing before I began looking, which were Sony, Toshiba, Dell, HP,Samsung and for value for money Acer. I also set myself a budget of £400 - £500 that helped narrow the search down a bit. I can't emphasize enough how good all these machines are in both function and quality, the Toshiba was much better than I expected it to be and the Acer was totally packed with features at a great price. A lot of scratching on my head was done before I decided that the Sony Vaio NR10 was the one for me. It was quite a battle in the end between the Dell 1520 and the Sony NR10 Laptop as they both offered great value, but the Sony just had that extra bit of sparkle about it to make me part with my cash
SONY VAIO NR10 First of all the Sony Vaio NR10 has a superb 15.4" 1280 x 800 high resolution screen that is truly stunning to both look at (very slick indeed) and use, then there's a massive 2GM of ram (memory) which is over twice that of my previous Laptop. The state of the art processor 'Intel Pentium Dual Core T2310 / 1.46 GHz' is another very strong point as it now allows me to surf the internet extremely quickly, almost effortlessly and cuts out all the stress out of online activity.
The DVD±RW (±R DL) is a brilliant feature to this Laptop as it now allows me to record/download pictures, films, and music from the internet, not forgetting that the playback on the Sony Vaio NR10 is exceptional with its Stereo speakers (better than the Dell). The Sony Vaio is also a much better looking Laptop than most I'd come across during my visits to the High St, it also has a lovely feel to it, not forgetting at 2.8kg in weight it's lightweight (streamlined) enough to take anywhere you wish.
Most modern Laptops now have WI-FI, which allows you to use the machine's without the need of a telephone cable, this and a 2hr rechargeable battery unit is yet another great plus to the Sony Vaio NR10 specifications. All this for £398.00 (usually £499.00) + £4.85 delivery from Tesco Direct is in my opinion a real steal.

SUMMARY One word comes into my mind straight away when I think of a way to sum up the Sony Vaio NR10 Laptop and that word is Fantastic. It truly does deliver all the latest technology and necessities you'll need for people like myself who require a Laptop for pleasure i.e surf the internet, ease of use, to play and the recording of DVD's and CD's with Sony's DVD RW feature. Without a shadow of a doubt this is the best Laptop I have ever owned and could not of wished for a better Laptop for the price I paid. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Sony Vaio NR10 Laptop, it really is exceptional value at your finger tips, that is to say you do act quickly and snap one of these super machines up now at Tesco Direct (www.tesco.com) their price is unbeatable. 9/10.... THUMBS UP Remember for all products not just Laptops it's definitely worth comparing prices using search engines such as Kelkoo (www.kelkoo.co.uk) you wont believe how much you can save.
Thought I'd take a few pictures of the Sony Vaio NR10 for this review, so you can get a better idea about how great this Laptop is.
Advantages: Light weight, portable machine with decent memory and responsiveness Disadvantages: Would have preferred manufacturers restore disks.
...another laptop as my old Sony Viao, although still working, was far too limited on processing power and hard drive space for what I wanted it for. I had liked my old Viao so I decided on another Viao, and when I checked out the latest NR10 in Comets I was quite impressed. ===What it’s Like to Use=== I liked the responsiveness of the T2310 dual-core Pentium Processor installed in the NR10. Running at 1.4GHZ this processor loads and allows programs ... ...Weight 2.8kg with a black LCD screen - size 15.4 inches. After having used this machine now for around 2 years and a Sony Vaio previously, I just got to say that the Sony Vaio is an excellent laptop in every way. Thanks for reading. ...

This new laptop form the Sony viao range, is the newest in technology and takes the design and looks of laptops to the next level.
This laptop is from the viao range, a range of laptops made my sony, and all of which have great design qualities and I think all of which look fantastic.
Another great thing about this, is the possibility of getting the laptop in different colours. This just makes the laptop you get that little bit more personal and ... ...need as well.
This sony has a 15.4\" TFT active matrix screen, which to be honest could be a 17 inch screen and it would be so much better. If it was that little bit bigger it would be better for watching movies on, and playing games on, and these are two things it does really well, so it's a little disappointing that the screen isn't that little bit bigger. However the screen being a little bit smaller does make it more portable, this laptop only ...

Advantages: good looking, quite fast, large amount of storage Disadvantages: crashes sometimes
This laptop feels very solid, with the screen being crystal clear and the keyboard very easy to type on. The sound quality is also very good compared to other laptops i have owned.
It comes preinstalled with vista which is good looking and also makes life much easier when u learn all the new features it provides. I particuarly like the position of the SD and Memory Stick Pro card readers, although i feel it would have been much better if an XD card ... ...card); this is not particularly big problem though as i can just easily use the USB cable. Another part of the laptop i liked was the position of the USB ports (On the sides near the front), as they are very easily accessible to me without having to juggle the whole thing around to find the ports on the back.
The laptop is quite fast although does speed up quite significantly once the bundled vaio software is removed. The laptop is also very quiet ...
