Sound, on the other hand, is less good. The inbuilt Sony speakers do not represent the name of the audio giant very well, but they are loud, so while they may not be perfect ... ...a movie to more than one person.
The NR21S also has plentiful memory card slots, supporting SD, XD, and memory stick duo and pro. There are also 4 USB slots, enough for most users.

The NR21S is a good all rounder, with good performance, graphics, and looks.
PERFORMANCE
The laptop is fast, with pre-loaded Vista Home edition running fine, and handling several heavy processes at once without glitch. However, as with all Windows laptops, it does overload if left on for too long or too many processes are run. The laptop does, however, have 2gb RAM, so should prove no problem for users requiring less advanced programs. Despite its speed the NR21S is very quiet, with the fan never dissapointing, a plus for users in a quiet room or for watching movies.

Sound, on the other hand, is less good. The inbuilt Sony speakers do not represent the name of the audio giant very well, but they are loud, so while they may not be perfect for audiophiles, they are great for pumping out music or a movie to more than one person.
The NR21S also has plentiful memory card slots, supporting SD, XD, and memory stick duo and pro. There are also 4 USB slots, enough for most users.
LOOK, FEEL, AND DESIGN
The NR21S is quite sexy, with a rough surface which not only looks good but provides great grip- no chance of smashed laptops with this one! The keys are a sexy black and the keyboard is ergonomic and a good size. The mouse, however, is more of a problem- the inbuilt pad is so big that one touches it by mistake, causing the cursor to jump to the point that the mouse is at, often annoying if typing something longwithout an external keyboard. The laptop is also heavy and bulky due to its size and power, which is a big negative for the traveller- the laptop is not ideal for the commuter who has to carry it around, and really makes a difference to the weight of a briefcase or suitcase.
SCREEN
One of the biggest positives of this laptop is its 15.4 inch, bright screen. While it does add to the weight, the big screen is definitely worth it for designers or those who use the laptop for home entertainment, and is a joy for gaming or watching films. The only negative to the screen is the way it is raised and lowered. Rather than loose hinges and a catch when closed, the screen has no catch to secure it, and is instead very stiff-hinged. This means that to open the screen, two hands are required, one to secure the laptop, and one to raise the screen, an annoyance if one's hands are full.
MEMORY
The memory is excellent with a big RAM of 2gb and a huge hard drive of 225gb, a space even I am struggling to fill.
Overall this is an excellent laptop brimming with slots and buttons and large enough for the big handed, but it is heavy, and has its annoying quirks.
Advantages: LONG BATTERY LIFE AND GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY. Disadvantages: : NO GRAPHIC CARD.
The Sony vaio is a device you can get for£ 500 or less. This is quite a notebook and it is very competence and efficient. It has a very stylish looks and has as very good graphics in terms of picture quality and brightness. I got mine some couple of months ago and I have not gotten any problems with it. The Sony product has 15.4 X -black LCD and that makes the picture a very sharp and bright one. It does all the function you might require a laptop ... ...sloughed in.
The Sony notebook is regarded as the leaders in notebooks and computer accessories makers.
So with all these features, the device is a masterpiece and to me, it is the best I have used.
It has standard 2GB RAM and dual core 1.6Ghz processor.
It also runs windows premium and with office 2007ready and that is 90-day trial.
It also comes with a year warranty.
Great value for money and would be recommended to friends and other people ...

...to be worth looking into. Sony VAIO Notebooks are famous for being industry leaders but also for being overpriced. Now this Laptop has the quality and stylish look as do all VAIO's but not the price tag. With a 15.4" X-Black LCD you are garunteed to have a great picture whatever applications you may be using. However it only has on-board graphics and not a standalone card like most other VAIO's this obviously helps bring down the price but does affect ... ...to see Sony bring out a notebook at an affordable price that does everything the majority of laptop users require. With a standard 2 GB RAM and a Dual Core T2330 1.6Ghz Processor This is definitely not a low end machine.
Capable of running the most intensive programs available today. The RAM is also upgradeable to 4GB should yo require. with a 200GB Hard Drive you will not be short of storage space for all your photos, videos etc.. This notebook ...

I love love love this laptop, im on it write now ! its fast, has a big memory and a good LCD screen. Im a student and its perfect for me wile doing my work and chatting with friends. Its not overly expensive so a good buy.
Again i have dropped it a few times and its perfectly working, ive dropped tea on it too , ooops , but its fine :) ...
