As a professional photographer I have previously shared with you my opinions on many cameras so I thought I would now share with you my opinions of some of the many accessories involved in photography too, starting with the SonyVCT-R640 tripod.
Although this tripod is nowhere near top of the range it does pretty much everything you would expect of it and at a great price. Sony products are always of high quality and this tripod is no different. It can be used for still imaging cameras or video cameras as long as they do not exceed 3Kg in weight which unless you are using top end professional cameras with huge lenses they will not.
It is fully tilt and pan operable which means it will tilt 90 degrees downwards, 65 degrees upwards and will pan a full 365 degrees, thus allowing you to capture images from all angles ...
Advantages: Very steady, will move to any position Disadvantages: Complicated at first
If you are serious about photography or filming, at some time you will need a tripod. Some situations such as landscape or self-timer photography benefit from the use of a tripod. It has a lightweight frame (weight is about 2-3kg) which conveniently folds up for transport, painted black to look impressive. It feels very sturdy and well built. The legs can be lengthened to 3 times longer than when folded up, and the height can be further altered by a winder which can be used to raise the camera higher again. A pan handle can be used to rotate the camera on the tripod and angle it up or down. Added to this, it is possible to position the camera in portrait ...
With the Sony VCT870RM remote control tripod, you'll have all of your camcorder's controls right in the palm of your hand. That's because it directs all the controls right to the handle grip. You'll be able to work the stop, play, record and zoom functions with ease. And all the while your video will be steady and rock solid. No jumpy pictures as you're trying to hold the camera steady. It has an elevator mechanism to take your camera up as high as 1.6 m off the ground, while the built-in level helps you align your picture.
