This is a great projector overall. I recognise that this is a fairly old projector and pretty much outdated, but as I work with secondhand electronics, I am seeing this projector becoming more and more popular. If you are looking to buy one secondhand I wouldn't expect you to pay any more than £200 at most.

Please do not be put off by the fact that this projector has a brightness of 600 lumens. It is on par with projectors of around 1500 lumens. Infact, it is far better than most projector of double the brightness (1200 lumens) the projectors that come to mind are Toshiba's, but I'll review some of them later.

I think that this projector is popular for a couple of reasons. One is that it has a max resolution of 1280 X 1024 which is superior than most new projectors and certainly beats any projector in it's price range. The second is that it is very solidy built. Unless you have seen one of these projectors you may be confused by the look of it from the picture. It works with a front panel that covers the whole of the front which is great as it protects the lens. Then this front panel can be released by a sliding catch and it then rotates under the projector, aiming the projector up slightly.

The protective front panel has made the projector popular with people looking for a projector to do office presentations. The whole projector is very solidly built and can be knocked around a bit without damaging the components inside. This makes it easy to transport and you needn't worry about it taking a slight knock. Though obviously this is within reason, don't expect to be able to play football with it! The projector weighs less than 3 kilos so you'll have no problems carrying out with you to the office and it's copact size makes it ideal for someone who has to take the train/tube to work.

The picture quality is excellent with this projector, owing mainly to its 1280 x 1024 resolution.

There is a good range of inputs on this projector allowing you to connect anything from a PC to a dvd player to it. The only downside to the inputs is that it has only got a single RCA for video input and relies upon a 3.5mm (headphone type) audio jack. Which can be a pain at times as you cant just use a triple RCA lead.

This projector is not designed to be ceiling mounted. It can only be desk mounted which makes setup time much quicker but if your looking for a permanent installation that's out of the way, this isn't for you.

Advice on buying this projector secondhand would be to check the lamp hours. This projector has an estimated lamp life of 2000 hours which is pretty standard on projectors today. Most of these projectors have only been use for office presentations and so have only had a couple of hundred hours use, but it pays to check the lamp usage. Just go into the menu and it is recorded there for you. A new lamp would cost you more than the projector is worth so aim to buy one with around 1000 hours use or less.

Also if you will want a remote with the projector, makes sure you buy a projector that has the remote with it, as replacement remotes are hard to find, yet the remotes are very easy to lose. And if you are forced to buy a new replacement then be prepared to spend £40-60. But as these projectors are desk mounted, you don't really need a remote for it.

Overall a great projector. Good value for money and great specification. Please do not be putoff by the 600 lumen lamp it is much better than you would expect and will work fine in daylight.

Good review, but don't post too many at once because more people are liekly to read (and rate) your reviews if you leave gaps between them. Arbobug
