Sometime back I was looking for a laptop and suffered a setback after I purchased a Fujitsu Siemens. See my review on it. I lost enthusiasm and decided I am not going to buy one at all! Like all other emotions- this feeling died down off after few months and I started looking for a Laptop again.
I went to a local dealer and explained all the features I wanted in a Laptop. With all these features + an Intel Pentium processor was getting over my range and the clever salesperson at Comet suggested that I could go for a Celeron to solve the budget side of it! He showed me the beautiful Laptop with a black, shiny screen and I really fell for it! The title of my review shows a different model number- I had suggested Ciao of my product and they told me its already listed. I tried and found this model to put it under this! If anyone knows how to move it- please do that for me. Do not get confused the model I am talking about is - Sony VAIO K215B (PCG-K215B) PC Notebook.
The Sony VaioK series of laptops have been designed for mainly home use, as they have Microsoft Windows XP Home as an operating system and are a good all round machine. A stunning specification at a great price. The Sony K215B is an ideal notebook for home use such as internet use, word processing, production of DVDs & CDs, and basic graphics activities.

Once you have read the boring bits- the information above is for those readers who like to have details, I will tell you what I liked/disliked about the Laptops. The Laptop looks great- beautiful silver colour. Feels good to work with, keys very easy to use. Mouse - much more sensitive than other laptops. Best part is the display - shiny black, easy to see, best part is viewing movies, feels absolutely great. Speakers are quite powerful and you can hear dialogues without attaching external speakers!
Speed - reasonable, sometimes slow- just does nothing for 10sec! I have not been able to understand why! Reliable- had it for 12 months now. Good networking- works well with wireless. It did not come with lot of extras, do if you are a pro, please go for an upgraded model- as buying software could be expensive. If you are a bit brand conscious- this will be good for you!
The cost was £750 at Comet, extended warranty makes it a bit dearer. Laptop prices have gone down significantly in last 12 months, I do not know what it costs now.
How helpful would this review be to a person making a buying decision? Rating guidelines
(+) cool and quite robust trackpad, good display,64-bit windows 7 (-) few connectors, dell drivers only, not realy for gameing (most models), finger print prone!
Advantages: Compact, Lightweight, Excellent Battery Life, Truly portable thanks to Bluetooth Disadvantages: Size can make typing tricky, Speaker quality is poor for music playback
