Sony Vaio AR71ZU ************** Sony is a brand of millions with electronics and IT products and now rocking with its excellent models in notebooks. Previous I have reviewed Sony Vaio CR31Z/R notebook and now this is my second review on Vaio notebook. This notebook is a great featured with latest technology and processing speed. **** Going to discuss all important functions about this notebook, processing speed, installed memory, graphics capability etc etc. Notebook is completely designed for gaming experience and it has all important and latest features for superb gaming experience with 17" TFT display with X-black technology for better viewing from any angle and wide screen display dedicated to gaming. **** Processor and speed First of all have a look on its processor and its processing speed, with installed superb Intel Core 2 Duo T9300 processor having excellent 2.5 GHz of clock speed. Front size data bus speed is about 800 MHz and the other rocking feature about this processor is its L2 cache size with total 6MB of superb cache size. This processor is best available processor for notebooks and Sony has provided in this notebook for thrilling gaming experience. Processor supports 64 bit computing technology so that go for future computing and gaming with high quality experience. **** Installed memory What Sony can give you better that is all here, RAM is a closed companion with processor and here is a good RAM also with 4GB of DDR2 SDRAM - 667 MHz RAM and maximum support capacity is also 4 GB. So that what maximum can be provided that is here. Here the speed of RAM is 667 MHz and processor has 800 MHz of data speed, RAM has slightly less speed but not a big matter it has good enough speed and you will never experience slow speed problem. Forget about everything and enjoy with thrilling gaming experience. **** Storage memory Internal storage capacity is also different and best with compare to its rivals with two installed hard disk drive, 320 GB Serial ATA 5400 rpm, total of 640 GB of massive storage space. What you can think about storage capacity in notebook, it has more than that. Means notebook is ahead of your thinking. I think we have a good storage with 250 GB of hard disk space but keeping so much of storage space is ridicules and it is due to showing this notebook different with others. There is no mean of keeping two hard disk drive this will also cause of slow speed and heavy load on notebook. One important I have to mention that SSD drive is more better and reliable for notebook and desktop but that is very costly and very few models have this. I think it will be better to keep good capacity SSD instead of so much of hard disk space. **** Graphics card This notebook also has a good graphics memory with NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics card and 512 MB of total graphics memory. This graphics card is common in gaming notebooks, previously I have reviewed Asus notebook that also contain this and it is good enough for any latest games or applications. **** Battery back-up Very bad thing about this notebook is its power back-up with about 1 to 1.5 hours of total battery back-up. Notebook also has a big 17" wide screen display and it has traditional battery back-up source so the time has been reduced to very less and there is not a good back-up time for this notebook. *** Other good feature about this notebook are, operating system with Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate and this is best available operating system in Microsoft windows Vista and Blue ray disk drive with 8X DVD write speed and 2X blue ray write speed. Blue ray is not so much popular due to its slow writing speed. **** All other features are something like common compare to other notebooks, like Card Reader, audio, camera, networking card etc. **** Over all conclusion This notebook is a father of all other notebooks with excellent processing speed, installed RAM, graphics memory and blue ray disk drive. Have a thrilling gaming experience with having this fully featured notebook.

A great laptop that has some of the best function around and isn't too bad on the eye either.
Look and design
Noting screaming at you either way, a basic, single-colour case, with no shiny bits or flashy stuff. Great for those that don't put too much importance on looks but don't want to look bad either. It's of a reasonable size, and is quite portable while remaining of a size which doesn't make it hard to use.
Function
It excels ... ...easily coping with multiple applications running at once as well as with the latest PC games with can usually only be used on normal PCs. It comes with windows vista, I know there are mixed views about this, but personally I like it, the only problem being that it won't use older software. The keyboard and trackpad were easy and comfortable to use and the screen was of a good size that didn't leave you struggling to see what you were doing. The memory ...

This system is excellent for advanced computer users, who require high performance. I was amazed with the build quality of this machine.
The one thing I found striking was the LCD display which is very crisp and ultra-bright. Perhaps one of the best I have seen. This however contributes to poor battery life. Under heavy tasks this system is lucky if it attains 1 hr of battery life which is shocking for users who take the system away from AC power ... ...The system is quite heavy and is not very portable making this a desktop replacement system and I would not recommend it for users who require portability.
The keyboard is excellent and can be used for prolonged periods comfortably.
The most disapointing feature of this laptop is its stupid doors at the side of the system to gain access to its ports this is a pain!
Overall this is a system that is far superior to other systems in terms of build ...

The VAIO AR series laptops are some of the most powerful on the market, and have great build quality to go with it.
One of the greatest parts of the laptop is the ability to watch blu ray discs on the move in full hd. There are only a few companies that offer this, and for the price - it is an excellent additional feature.
This does drain the battery, however it does last a reasonable time for using it on the go.
