your notebook or charge the battery from electrical power outlets. If you are running your computer on AC power with a battery installed, the adapter charges the battery (if needed) and maintains its charge. When the system is off, the AC adapter will charge the battery and then maintain its charge.

After having spent years relying on company supplied laptops for my working life of software development and endless documentation, speed issues persuaded me to buy my own kit.
I bought the Sony because :-
1. I like Sony Products (I have a Sony tv , a Sony PSP and a Sony SatNav)
2. It looked comparable to a Macbook Pro in layout and keyboard design but was half the price.
3. pots of memory, pots of disk space and a fast processor
I bought it at comet at a discounted price of £675 which was an absolute bargain the screen is bright and sharp (if somewhat reflective)
The keyboard is a joy to type on and I think it actually reduces the spelling mistakes that I usually make.
everything i have thrown at it so far in regards to development environments to movies to music has performed spectacularlty.
I would recommend this product to anyone.
I have to say that I am absolutely delited with the purchace . The only negative aspect is the life of the battery, at a little over two hours it is not great but as I am plugged into the national grid for much of the time this is not really an issue.
I purchased the Sony Vaio VGN-FW31E for my studies and also to double up as a bluray DVD player. The first thing you notice with this laptop is the quality of the screen. The screen is probably one of the best features of this laptop with a resolution of 1600 x 900 and makes this an excellent choice if it is to be used primarily for multimedia. The screen easily matches anything that is currently out there in terms of quality and will be the first ... ...included. As it is a Sony brand there are several software packages that come with it which may be either irrelevant or incompatible to anyone who has not had a Sony laptop before. ITunes does however work. The laptop is also rather bulky which doesn’t make it the ideal machine if you plan to use it frequently whilst on the move.
In short this is an excellent laptop although as it’s a Sony the price tag is relatively steep and it size and weight ...
