- Introduction - Anyone who's seen my last laptop review, for my Toshiba Equium, will know that I had alot of problems with it, of different types. Eventually, just over a month ago, I gave up on it and agreed to let my dad have it at a decent price, since he seemed pretty sure he'd still be able to use it. I brought a sony vaio and had it for a few years mine was a silver vgn-nr38m it had a 2gb of memory 250gb hard drive was a 15.4 inch screen and i used it so much i am amazed it never set on fire. Due to someone dropping a drink over it when they were using it before that moment it run like a dream which is exactly how you imagine a product like sony to opperate. This was a pretty big letdown to me seeing as I have owned a VAIO laptop in the past. The build quality is questionable - the plastics feel cheap and not particularly well put together. The screen is ok, looks better when switched off to be honest - it has a narrow viewing angle so you'll struggle to see properly if you're not directly in front of it. The power cord is way too short - if you want to use this while it's plugged in then get a new power socket installed at waist height! Good points are that it is very light and portable.
