The battery can last upto 4 hours which is better than average. Those of you who regularly read my reviews will know that a bone of contention I have with many laptops is the battery life.
As usual I'd have liked 6 hours or more, but 4 hours is certainly an improvement on 2-3.

The Sony Vaio VGN-NS30E/W is a low-mid level laptop designed to fit the needs of most business and leisure users. To better illustrate the features, the pros and the cons I've split the review into sections for you................
APPEARANCE -------------------- This laptop is honestly gorgeous in its design. The white frame gives it a very crisp and clean look, much like an IPOD and makes you excited to see what it can do. Upon opening the laptop, you're greeted with a stunning screen with X-Black technology. This means that the black backgrounds, vivid colours of media players and photos look very deep and rich. Games, movies and applications all look fabulous on the screen. The KEY to a good laptop can be the keyboard for many people (wow what a cheesy line - I'll see if I can get a cheesier one in before the review is over lol!) The keyboard has a matching colour, and the keys look very well defined and easy to see. One point of note would be that I'd seriously consider using a laptop case if you're out on the move, as the 'Viao' name features on the outer casing of this laptop. They're highly respected itsms like ipods, psps etc so you'd probably not want everyone seeing you carry it around.
MEMORY AND PROCESSOR ---------------------------------------- The VGN-NS30E/W comes with a very reasonable 3GB of memory built-in, and is expandable up to 8GB! While this is superb, do bear in mind that if you are using a 32bit operating system, then you wont be able to go up to 4gb memory let along 8gb. The 3GB is more than sufficient for the laptop to run very fast, as various applications can run at once, and tabs can be opened and closed with barely time for a blink.
There is an Intel Pentium dual-core processor at work behind this machine, and so it's little wonder that everything runs so smoothly.
HARDDRIVE AND OPERATING SYSTEM ------------------------------------------------------- There is a 250gb harddrive inside this bad boy, and so if you're planning on saving music videos, photos, mp3's etc then you'll be very satisfied with this. The Windows Vista Home Premium operating system is a great foundation to launch your other programs from. Despite some of the negative comments about Vista, it really is a great o.s. and is well supported with updates and patches via the microsoft website.
USB SLOTS/MEMORY CARD SLOTS/ADDITIONAL INFO ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- There are 4 usb slots on this laptop, and so you'll have lots of potential for plugging in cameras, mp3 players, memory sticks, portable harddrives etc if you choose to. File transfers can take place up to the 2.0 fast speed available via the usb slots. There is a memory card slot, and with the extra use of an adaptor that you can purchase, various memory card types can be supported, although Sony's memory duo format is always the most liked by Sony naturally!

I bought this laptop because it was recomended to me by a friend and so far it hasn't disappointed. The battery life runs fr a couple of hours and the key board is really easy to type on. The laptop looks nice to and suits males and females. The only downside is that it is white. Although white is a nice colour irt shows the dirt really easily which is a down point. The fan doesn't make a noise. The internal volume doesn't turn up that high so you ...

Trust Sony to produce a great laptop in the shape of a notebook.
Excellent little machine. Reliable, fast and great battery length
My opinion of the Sony Vaio is one of top quality, lasts a long time saving you money on constantly upgrading and replacing your faithfull laptop.
Mobility is excellent with this machine and can be carried easily.
Excellent value for money.
When buying a laptop, in my opinion the look is not as important as the quality ... ...to consider when purchasing a laptop/notebook and Sony must be as far as I'm concerned, one of the top designers and manufacturers of this modern day communicator. Trust Sony for reliability, affordability and sheer pleasurable usage.
These are my opinions on this machine.

Advantages: Faster Good for multitasking Disadvantages: non to my advantage
...constantly updates with the latest sony drivers and software fixes. Features 4 USB ports and a firewire port for connecting digital cameras or camcorders. As it has 3GB of memory multitasking is no problem and so far it has never crashed even though it comes with windows Vista. If your looking for a stable, fast, decent graphics this is for you. Costs around £500 for the best mid range laptop at this price point. ...
