I have had 1 for about 4 years and it still works perfectly. The battery life is excellent and there is no need to pay someone to take it apart to install a new battery. Just open the back cover and change the AAA battery yourself. The controls are easy to operate without even looking at it. It's also very durable. I go jogging with mine and have dropped it many times without it breaking, and my sweaty hands have not caused it to short out yet. I have another MP3 player that was 3 times the price and I am so scared to drop it. With the Sony, I don't even flinch when I drop it now. I even like the ease of use on the Sony Software that is needed to D-load the songs on it. In my opinion this is one of the best overall designs for consumers. The other thing I love about this Walk man that I have had problems with other Walk-man's before is that it is secure. It doesn't come out of your ears a lot like other Walk-man's tend to do. For active sports this is ideal because you don't need to worry about it falling out whilst working out. Even with the most active pursuits this Walk-man has not failed me. I have used this system for walking, jogging and cycling and found it stayed in place during each of these sports.
